        No way you'll "normally" get $649 on Qantas to HK.

          It really depends on the time of the year. $649 during the school holidays is definitely a bargain. They really need to fill out the seats for the new QF117/118 flights. The prices for the rest of the dates are pretty standard.

      You see jv, flying on a plane is very different from walking and usually costs alot more.

    CX is better as its a daylight flight back to BNE around same price mid April, so no sparrow arrival.

    Normal fares on BNE/HKG/BNE usually in the $900/$1000 range on QF, bur CX more like $1250, so both a very good deal, seems price war on like that to LAX.
