There are no PS4 games in this Sale.

NOTE: Games which i recommend are purely from the experience i have had with them and not based on reviews.

      • Every game and discount listed here, is already listed on the other post. The other post also has more games and includes the extra PS+ discount option. PS+ is not required for the other deal, it is an extra bonus.

A mod has decided this is different enough though, because they thought this post had different discounts, when it doesn't.

    • They are different sales. Britta has a title for one sale (Double Discounts) but included "a dump of all the Playstation Store price changes that happened today" which has included items from both sales, including this one (Save upto 70%). Britta has done more than his post title calls for (kudos for effort) and if his title was updated to reflect both sales then we could delete this one. However, I think that since there are 2 sales on and the other post only mentions one of them, it is useful to make obvious that there are two.

  • Also there are many PS4 games in this sale, games that are available on all systems.

I'd love to know how many people in Aus are still playing on the last-gen system out of curiosity. Maybe I'm stereotyping but I'd imagine it would be little kids….Bad time to be playing COD on PS3.

    • you would be surprised..

    • Lack of BC is a major issue with the new gen consoles.

    • I'm playing on a PS3, and have no immediate plans to get a PS4.

I have a massive backlog of PS3 games, and the games are getting cheaper and cheaper :)

I have kept my PS3 as well. As more and more people buy the PS4, PS3 stock begins to just sit with retailers piling up (at an increased rate as people are trading more and more last-gen games in). Makes the prices a lot cheaper that's for sure. But games like Fallout 4 are only out on current gen consoles.

        • Yea, I'll miss out on things like Witcher, Fallout, GTA etc .. but it doesn't matter to me …

I think this comic sums it up:
          https://xkcd.com/606/

      • I still do (26 year old here). I have HEAPS of games to get through before even thinking of moving to ps4. I'm currently playing through Far Cry 3 and loving it. The graphics seem pretty good so I don't feel like I am missing out.

      • I wish I'd kept my PS3, but after convincing my self I didn't need two consoles I sold it after getting a PS4. Now I've sold the PS4 because it didn't have enough games. If Army of TWO 1,2 still had functional servers (screw you EA) then I would buy a PS3 again in a heartbeat.

I think little kids who have consoles are gonna have the latest consoles.

you are right , thats stereotyping. I still use my ps3 than my ps4.massive backlog of games with ps3 and very little time .waiting for uncharted 4.

      • Yeah see I'm a pretty hardcore gamer. I'm not going to sit here and say that I've played every PS3 game, of course not, but all of the ones that have ever interested me, I've played. Others who didn't have as much free time obviously have a backlog.

    • I still do. I own a PS4 and Xbox One but still have my PS3 and Xbox 360 out for playing. If a good price comes along for a game I want to try, why wouldn't I try it out :)

      • Out of all 4, which one do you use the most?

        • Xbox One the most, followed by PS4.

But that's mostly because my wife is always playing the older consoles on the other TV.

    • Alot more than you think. Not Buying a PS4; game pricing in Australia is ridicules, building a PC so i can really experience 'next-gen'

      • PC's are superior systems no doubt (coming from a guy who only owns a PS4). However PC's are always throttled by the current capabilities of consoles, no big AAA is going to want to only release on PC and not capitalise on the bigger console market. PC master race is one thing, but when AAA games like GTA V are released later and Arkham Knight doesn't even work it actually makes me realise how neglected the PC is in a lot of cases. As far as pricing, Jb Hifi, Big W and Target have created a competitive marketplace to compete against the online retailers, hence prices have never been lower. Type in 'Fallout 4' in the search box and you'll see how much cheaper it is than on Steam. However I will say that Steam sales are awesome, yet hardcore gamers don't want to wait years for a game like Fallout to drop dramatically in price.

    • I still have my PS3 and no plans to get rid of it, because of the digital content (old PS1 classics e.g Xenogears & FF9) I have on there plus titles I do not want to part with (MGS HD pack & Red Dead Redemption) Have the PS4 as well but they have not included backwards compatibility so the PS3 will stay. I still have my PS2 as well and it still works! :)

I still have my PS3 with a 500GB jam packed with all my PS+ content I never had time to play.

I do have a PS4 but would love to have time to sit down with the PS3. Some amazing titles to be played on last gen consoles still.

Some of the top of the pile from MetaCritic and most shouldnt be missed (and not on PS4…..yet)

    Assassin's Creed II
    Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
    Batman: Arkham Asylum
    Batman: Arkham City

    Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam

    The Orange Box
    Wipeout HD Fury
    XCOM: Enemy Unknown

    • I feel bad looking at that list!

I have alot of those games and have only managed to finish 3. I have played halfway through MGS4 and Bioshock 2 but stopped as I hadn't played the first ones yet. Working my way through MGS2 at the moment though!

    • A lot of items on that list are frequently $5 on the Steam platform. Not saying it's for everyone, but PC has a lot going for it. As mentioned above, backwards compatibility. I never realised how useful that was until I bought the barren PS4, that library of games available on PS3 just wasn't there. Backwards compatibility isn't (as much of) an issue on PC as it is with consoles.

Red Dead Redemption however is another game that's worth owning a PS3, Damn those exclusive games :(

    • Save yourself the time and avoid Assassins creed (coming from someone who platinumed the first 2).
If you want to play the best on that list I can give you my opinion (in order of best to worst):

Oblivion (The best game I've ever played in my life, fallout and skyrim are pathetic excuses next to that game)
Deus Ex Human Revolution (Platinumed. If you have ever watched Blade Runner you'll love this game
      Skyrim
Metal Gear Solid 4 (make sure you have time to watch hour long cutscenes)
      Fallout 3
      Red Dead Redemption
      Bioshock
      The Orange Box
Batman: Arkham City (Easily the best game in the franchise)
Dead Space (Play at night with blinds closed and it's amazing)
