  • Saw these last weekend when buying the last special on Ben and Jerry's, but I dont use these pods so didnt know they were a good deal.

    • A good deal if you bought from the Target deal. People were making a good $20+ profit from cashback. LOL!

      • Nah, that one use different capsules

Sorry not aware of all these different Lavazza pods

        • @ykwon10:
Understanding which pods are for different machines is difficult.

Once you own a particular machine you are usually locked into their pods. There are compatible pods online for different machines, but you are really wanting the quality of the coffee, so may not be the same taste.

  • Coffee pods are designed for specific machines. Lavazza makes pods for different brands of machines.

So are these for the Lavazza A Modo Mio Minu Coffee Machine? Pods for that machine normally are in boxes of 16.

No, this one not for Modo Mio Minu

That's what I thought. Couldn't view catalog on phone.

Hope those who got those free machines also registered them for 32 free pods! I've still got hundreds of free pods from that great Lavazza deal. Drinking one now :-)

Like with ink jet printers, it's often cheaper to buy more than one machine just for the included consumables.

  • OP: Need to identify which machine these pods are designed for, as seems not for machines you link to.

      Lavazza Caffitally Pods

      • That's what I suspected.
Woolies stocked these Lavazza 10 packs for Caffitally machines.

Much cheaper pods than for Lavazza A Modo Mio Minu Coffee Machines - these won't fit.

  • Compatible with Aldi machines?

    • don't think so.. based on comments above, it is not compatible with all Lavazza range. Hence, don't think it will be for Aldi.

    • yes, they should work with ALDI machine

      • They will fit, but the coffee may filter differently because the capsules are Caffitaly. Aldi capsules in a Caffitaly machine dispense the coffee rougher and don't mix with the milk well.

You could always buy the Grinders "Romanza" Coffee Beans at $5.99 per kg pack.

    • May I ask where you buy them?

      Edit: NVM - I saw it :)

    • mhhhh, something is not right. "Coffee Beans at $5.99 per kg pack"
1Kg of beans, even super dark roast, usually cost more that.

      • Correct Good Sir. In fact, this product is $27 in Woolworths. I have been enjoying it this week and it tastes great to me

  • Nespresso and Nespresso compatible seems to have the widest range of pods. Nespresso pods themselves are too expensive and how could you buy them anyway after the waaaanky George Clooney ads on TV .. :-( .. !! I tried filling my own, too time consuming and the result with Vittoria Italian Blend was just so-so. Tried Vittoria off-the-shelf capsules and they weren't much better ('we know coffee' but perhaps not pods!!), so I ended up with Coles Select (Fairtrade by the way), with a range of intensities, cheapest as it happens and best I can find for my palate, although there are three or four more brands of Nespresso compatible pods in the supermarket I've still to try.

    • If you like the Italian style type of espresso, Lavazza A Modo Mio is a better system in my opinion because capsules are packed with 7,5gr of coffee (that is 50% more than Nespresso) and they are also less expensive.

There is also the ESE system which is a great and completely open system that uses biodegradable pods (environmentally friendly). It's better than Nespresso in my opinion however machines can be more expensive because they are mostly made in Italy and not in China.

      • I used to have an Alfa Romeo 'made in Italy' (actually I've had four), woeful electrics amonst other issues… :-( .. !! Don't get me wrong Alfistas, love the cars, but they are a trial…but I digress.

        • Talking of cars, I said exactly the same thing to an old friend of mine who bought an Alfa not long ago. He nicely replied to me that, him, like everyone else is fully aware that Alfa is not Toyota. Quoting him: "I didn't buy an Alfa Romeo for it's reliability I bought it for the beautiful and unique design and for the sporty engine". I think it's also fair to say that today's Alfa Romeo in general are better quality than some others cars; especially those made in China.

With regards to coffee machines the story is a bit different. Coffee machine made in Italy cannot take advantage of economy of scale so their differentiation is a better quality.

          @bestespresso: Best drive of a lifetime of cars … Alfa Romeo 1972 GTV1750 … birdshit yellow/black….. loved that car … :-) !!

  • Looking at the photo
    they are cafitally pods
which means you can use them with
    Aldi
    Woolies machines

  • i bought 20 boxes. they have an expiry date of 05/01/2016 but i don't think sealed coffee will expire… these are compatible with expressi aldi machines as well as caffitally machines

    • I understand they have been discontinued and that would explain the price.
