Shure SRH840 Headphones $159.80 Delivered @ StoreDJ

280
YES15OFF

Full credit to brendongl for the code

Well reviewed headphone at a pretty good price. It has been around for a few years and it has been well recommended by the community since it came out.

Amazon US currently has them at $199, and CamelCamelCamel shows that it hasn't been on sale since 2011.

Make sure you try it before you buy it. A general user will find it lacking in bass.

    • I have a pair. They are actually pretty well balanced for rock and metal.

  • I listen to a lot of hiphop. Are these good those? Saw some mixed reviews…

      Shouldn't your ID be inhiphopweareone?

      • Yeah I know, used to be a metal head man. I grew out of it a bit haha. I got reviews saying these are good for most genres though so maybe….

        • I say keep looking. Ath m50 or the 1st gen momentum over ears would be more suited for hip hop

    • gimme some example track (i can spotify it) and i will give it a try for you. the headphones are more precise bass and vocal then bass or vocal bias.

Got a pair and love them. This is a very good price.

  • I have one for three years, not used very often because it gets quite hot.

  • I had the 940 which look very similar in construction. First pair failed about 9 months in and second pair about 4 months in. Thankfully the headphone store were awesome and allowed me to change to Akg due to the two problems. The internal cable kept breaking, so no sound from one side. Seems like this was common for people extending them fully (ie a big head). Sound wise they were brilliant.

  • You bros need to understand these are music headphones. They are designed to be accurate; not designed to sound awesome.

    • Yes, monitoring headphones was the phrase I have heard used. They aim at a clean, neutral, undistorted sound, but a lot of people like exaggerated bass and treble. I have tinnitus in one of my ears and hate loud bass music since it worsens the ringing.

The headband on the Shure's isn't as comfortable as on high end Bayerdynamic or Sennheiser; they start digging into my noggin after about an hour. I had a similar issue with an Audio-Technica model.

It seems that the code no longer is valid.

  • The code is working again! But be quick as the sale ends at midnight.
