Way more reliable than CashRewards. My purchases actually track, even with more expensive purchases.

    • im pretty sure that Maximum Cashback for Cameras, Mobile Phones, TV & Entertainment, Computer & Tablets is capped at 3.5%

Even though they dont state it on there website , but they say up to 4% if you've noticed

    • +2

I've had all my cash rewards purchases tracked so far, are you sure you're using the right process?

      • +3

        Yes.

        • +1

Ok, strange I just counted 15 purchases all tracked for me.

        • +7

@itsak: All my small purchases track fine with CashRewards. However all my more expensive purchases are never tracked.

        • +2

          @Orpheus: how expensive were your purchases ? I had 3x $1500+ and 5x $600+ all tracked.

My wife on the other hand has got none tracked.

        • @tomleonhart: Andrew here from Cashrewards. We've been doing a full review in the last week to try to learn more as to why eBay is not tracking some of our member purchases. We still haven't fully completed this review however initial findings are leaning towards the major reason for particular transactions not tracking are the use of Adblock type software. We've found many of our members don't even realise they have such software installed as sometimes they are built in to browsers or corporate firewalls

On top of our own members having success once they turn off Adblocker properly, read here http://support.getadblock.com/discussions/problems/1260-adbl… about others having success after initially having purchases not tracking, then having success once Adblocker was correctly disabled

tomleonhart can you let us know if the device your wife has made her purchases from had adblock ?

By the way if it doesn't track on Cashrewards it won't make any difference which cashback service you use. It is just not possible for a purchase to not track with Cashrewards on eBay yet track on another Cashback service.

        • @ahc99: Yeah I think adblock got me a couple times. So far my last few purchases with CR have all worked, I just manually turn off adblock as I am about to make a purchase.

        • +2

          @Orpheus:
I meet the same problem with CashRewards, nearly all purchases over $1000 can't be tracked, but small one no problem.

        • +2

@ahc99: Just to add to thi, what I always do is:

          1. Find items I need.
          2. Add them to the basket.
          3. Open private browsing.
          4. Go to cashrewards.
          5. Login.
          6. Search for eBay and go it using the link on cashrewards.
          7. Login to eBay.
          8. Go to shopping cart.
          9. Checkout.
          10. Pay.

This has always worked for me.
The key is private browsing (assuming all extensions are disabled by default on this mode). And logging in to cashrewards before opening eBay.

        • +2

@ahc99: I already do everything you said, and one day i buy a different amount PrePaid Express Post Small (500g) Satchel on ebay from same seller at a short time keeping computer no any change, small amount one no problem, but another over $1000 transaction got none tracked.ridiculously, just my more expensive purchases are never tracked.

        • @OpayuOnam:

Ya, I believe that is because when you click on the link to eBay on cashrewards after login, it will append extra url parameter:
          clk_rvr_id=xxxxx

All subsequence operation from eBay will append with that parameter. That how eBay know you are from cashrewards

If you copy and paste eBay URL from other post or saved bookmark, even you already login to cashrewards, your will notice that parameter is not there and you will not be reward cashback.

That is my understanding how Cahsrewards work with eBay.

        • @songjing:

          For example:

          • I login to cash reward, select ebay from link and click on it
          • in other tab of browser, I have ozbargain open. I click on the eBay deal link which don't have "clk_rvr_id=" parameter.
          • I do the purchase, however with the lack of that parameter, my transaction didn't record by cashrewards for cash back

Because eBay and cashrewards are 2 diff domains, cookies can be use (not allow cross domain). I think URL parameter is the only way how they integrate together.

If my understanding is correct, that means every eBay transaction, we need make sure we have that url parameter in place.

          Correct me if I'm wrong.

        • @ahc99:
Would an antivirus component do that? Looking at Bitdefender Trafficlight on a Mac.

        • +1

          @OpayuOnam:

          This is the best method.

FWIW the problems that this avoids:

          1. Extensions (not just ad block but other privacy extensions) messing with cookies/tracking.

          2. Other tabs/windows in your browser messing with your cookies/tracking.

Also keep in mind any privacy software (maybe built into anti-virus could also be messing with the cookies/tracking).

Every one of the 10 eBay transactions I've made since signing up to CashRewards has been tracked.

        • @songjing: I did an experiment.
It seems that clk_rvr_id=xxxx is not appended to any subsequently clicked URLs once you have landed on ebay. So I would surmised that ebay most likely use their session cookie and tie it to the clk_rvr_id parameter to determine the cashback originator.

        • @ahc99: Used the same machine/browser/method without Adblocker for purchases. Small amount transactions were tracked by CR without problem, but when I made a purchase with a larger amount, CR didn't track it.

      • +2

I'm having the same issue with Cash Rewards, it doesn't register my purchases. Shopandmints' minimum Payout is $50…sigh

      • +2

Same here. eBay seems to track ok for me on CR. However I've had real problems with other sites. Most notably at least 2 purchases on GetWinesDirect and 3 or 4 other one-off purchases. Always very careful when buying. I don't use adblocker. Needs to be some kind of confirmation system introduced by CR that will instantly show purchase on your account page.

  • 8.The following categories will NOT earn cashback: Charity & Non-Profit items,Heavy industry equipment, Automotive excluding spares, gift cards, store cards.

So you can get cash back on real estate?

    • +2

Looks they may have overlooked adding that to the list of exclusions.
Would be good if you could get cashback on such a purchase.

    • No because I don't think you actually buy real estate on eBay. For real estate, eBay functions as an advertising service only. You then buy the property from the seller. I could be wrong but I think that's it.

      • +3

No way man, I look at an eBay auction for a house, bid on it sight-unseen, and then pay $500,000 via PayPal (so I get buyer protection). If the house is faulty, it's as simple as doing a PayPal dispute! ;)

      • Timeshare is real estate, that's for sale on ebay.

  • Minimum cashout amount?

  • +4

Minimum cashout amount is $50 at the moment, hopefully they will reduce this eventually.

    • That's the only thing that would put me off using this, the $50 cashout amount. I guess it would be irrelevant if you use eBay often.

      • True, it would be good if they lowered the cashout amount.

    • +8

So you have to spend $1250 just to actually get any cash back? That's kind of ridiculous.

  • +4

This is better than CR in terms of tracking. that's why I switched to this provider.

    • is it possible to use this and CR for the same purchase?

      • +4

Then why stop there? Sign up for all the cashback schemes and you'll actually make money buying things. (and no, you can't)

        • Was a legitimately curious, why the hostility?

      • Probably find they both invalidate each other out, so you end up with no rewards at all. Just saying…

  • 1.Payment using any type of voucher or eBay credit may result in your purchase being ineligible to earn cashback.

i usually wouldnt use ebay without a voucher…

    • They have the current 20% off code listed on their website, so it should work fine if using that code.

    • I usually wouldnt use ebay without a voucher

How do you get vouchers? I didn't know they were a "thing", and certainly didn't know people only used eBay with them?!

      • +2

unless you've been living under a rock, ebay have been doing big vouchers every second week, also not to mention the random ones they target to your account… and yeah generally ebay is now more expensive than you can get elsewhere, so why buy from ebay without a voucher?

        • Thanks! Yeah, I've been traveling for 4 months, didn't look online much.

Now, I keep seeing here that folk had $50/$100 vouchers somehow, I am envious!

        • +1

Yeah those vouchers are great, however I think all of the cashback providers have a similar condition.

  • ok, so do they take as long as CR to give you your money?

    • +1

Do CashRewards usually credit automatically, or are you expected to force it?
I am overdue on about a dozen recorded transactions. As yet never been paid a single cent (total bullcarp!) on CashRewards or Pricepal.

      • +1

I have $38 available now, but over $50 if we count the pending items too. Waiting until it reaches $50 available now, before I make a withdrawal. When I complained to CR about some delays in the pending ones, I was informed it was due to some stores being tardy in validating the purchases. I imagine there would be those who would buy something and then return it shortly afterwards, in an attempt to make something from one of these rewards schemes, so you can understand some delay in validating. Some sellers are definitely very quick (like Bonds), but i still have a couple that have been pending after 2 months.

        • +1

Thanks Jed, guess patience is best. Mine have been three to four months and not sure whether to ask or wait. Will wait another month.

        • @Bargitrage: I guess we can only say, we are not the only ones hey! Still, a few months is pushing it into the unreasonable stage, so if the sellers are not getting their act together they should be kicked off the scheme and CR should honour the rewards nevertheless. Only waiting on a few dollars but I agree with your sentiments exactly. I didn't even know there were other cash rewards schemes until today.

  • kind of annoyed as cashrewards does a bad job at tracking… i made a few purchases via ebay >$100 and they did not track!!! It seems only the "cheaper" ones actually track.

  • +1

Time for TA to price match?

  • +2

10 . Cashback on Laptops and Mobiles is capped at 3%

How do they discern between a Windows laptop and a desktop?
Do I have to 5-layer proxy this lot?

  • +2

Ive bought a few things over $1k and shopandmint registers them all, however all of them still show pending payout, meanwhile cashrewards has already credited my account. Anyone know how long before they actually credit?

    • I have found they usually take around the same time as cashrewards, if it's taking longer send them a message to check it for you.

  • OP/Mod needs to edit description to say minimum $50 spend.

  • I had a pretty average experience with these guys that was eventually resolved.

I'd still consider giving them another shot though.
