thanks mate…one more query I have… . Is this Amaysim has some kind of expiry with in which I should be activating it after purchasing the SIM? (note: I have couple pf Telstra $10 packs as of now, so prefer to use it for next few months).
I'm unsure of the particulars in this instance but apparently all providers are in the process of switching to no expiry SIMS (however there is old stock that has expiry still).
Porting authorisation lasts 30 days, just live chat them when you want to port in the future and they'll fix it up.
I would contradict, mate. To me, it seems like it is $10 for each month for a period of 3 months, totalling up to $30 for a period of 3 months. I am saying this because when you apply the Promo Code, it states a saving of $19.90 for a plan of $29.90. If, as you say, the total was $10 for a period of 3 months, it would have stated a saving of $19.90 times 3 = $59.70, and not $19.90.
I stand corrected, and would love to be corrected. Can some one please confirm the same after having a chat with Amaysim?
I'm totally with you on this one mate, from numerous reports of people getting charged $10 for the first month i'm willing to bet they'll get charged $10 again for the next 2 months, if it was really a total of $10 for 3 months it should have been $3.33 for the first month.

I've used Amaysim SIMs in 3G devices with no problems. 4G doesn't even exist everywhere yet.

Yeah normally if you are porting, then they can't send you activated Sim.
Amaysim being on the Optus network, which has been at late being extremely poor. Have areas of blackout zones in metro areas Syd on a Moto G.

so i think the conclusion is that if i'm going to stick around with them it's much better to go with 3months rather than fiver as the promo is ending at the end of november and there won't be time left on promo date for me to use fiver then port out then port back in with 3months.. if that makes any sense at all..

So if i buy this simcard, can i activate it in a few months or do i have to activate it now? Might be going on holidays on the xmas break and this would be a cheap way to get data for the road.

Long story:
I previously signed up using the SWITCH deal (before there was any mention of TPG). I got the SIM card and ported over successfully over the next few days. However, in the midst of a call last night, I was disconnected (thinking either me or my partner had hung up accidentally). I tried calling out again. I received a voice message saying that I'm out of Amaysim credit. So I started chatting with a rep. We argued about the SWITCH code was exclusive to TPG customers and everyone on OzBargain would've known (not true at the first few revisions of the deal). They were firm with not honouring the deal but were fine if I used the FIVER deal and port over after. I asked if I could used the 3MONTHS deal instead and they said it wasn't valid.
THey never had 3months on that page anyway; looked on the 25th

yes. After sim is active, all you have to do is change payment method to Vochers/Bpay and disable auto renew
