Love the coupon code, but Toshiba SSDs as a brand are a bit of an unknown to me.

  • Are SSDs like SD/Micro-SD cards, where the R/W speeds do hold some truth, but are largely dependent on the brand e.g. Sandisk, or do they hold more value in SSDs?

    • according to the specs for the 240GB R/W 500/260. that is not great comparing to other brands with way better R/W speeds for a few more dollars. Even Sandisk SSD Plus 240GB on SE for $114 has R/W 520/350 and I can vouch for this one - I have two and they are great for my needs.

      • Now the debate is between whether to get the 240gb sandisk and have assured quality and stability for $114, or the Crucial 250gb for $125 with 535/370 R/W…

        • Unless your using it constantly to transfer big files, then I doubt the extra speed would be that noticeable. The iops on these drives are only distinguishable through benchmarking really.

Get the sandisk if its gonna be used for your os. I've had my Samsung 830 for like 4 years now used everyday… nothing beats reliability.

  • Samsung better than this?

    • +3

      Yes.

But this is still way better than any HDD.

  • rep, any assurance the quality is good? compare with samsungs?

    • +2

Not really. Closest reviews for a toshiba rebranded SSD

I would steer away from Toshiba based SSD's and pay a bit extra for a samsung or intel … just saying

  • No cashback?

  • Great work!

  • No cashback rewards, what's going on TA?

Let's just say SE is in discussion with CR as we speak :)

  • With this shop had more general coupons.

I do hope we have another Samsung 850 EVO 250GB deal coming up. My Kingston HyperX 3K just died. :(

  • Sorry. We don't have enough 'Toshiba Dyna Store MLC SSD 2.5" 240GB (HDTSP240TSBMLC)' in stock to fulfill your order: we have 0 in stock. Please change the qty on order in your shopping cart and click update. Then try to checkout again.

    :(

  • Still waiting for a deal on M.2 SSDs.

Looks like somebody didn't try pronouncing the coupon code before releasing: TOSHIB-A… :)

  • If only the 960GB was ~200. Would make a perfect external SSD.
