How do you have a clearance of digital stock?

    • +21

Why not? You have a limited supply of keys to clear out.

  • +1

Great prices for the Borderlands games. Even a nice price of Civ: Beyond Earth.

  • +1

    Some surprisingly great prices!

  • +3

    1 x L.A. Noire (Digital) - MA15+ $2.00
    1 x Just Cause 2 (Digital) - MA15+ $4.00
    1 x Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor (Digital) - MA15+ $9.00
    1 x Call of Duty: Ghosts (Digital) - MA15+ $7.00

    Thanks!

  • +2

Amazing prices given the australia dollar is so weak. As cheap or cheaper than most of these games have ever been in USD so even greater savings since this is AUD.

  • +2

    Thanks OP!

For those who have not used the mobile app before, don't forget you get $5 for downloading and using the app for the first time.

  • -3

$69 for a $2 game is no deal.

as ive already used the trial i cannot do it again on any account.

  • +2

Have $10 store credit and have no idea how. I didn't even purchase anything recently. $1 for Dark souls 2 baby!

  • +2

Thanks OP. Picked upn LA Noire, Just Cause and Dark Soul Prepare to Die for $1 after applying Visa Checkout $10 discount :)

Edit: oh wow, got given another $10 visa discount, picked up Deus Ex and Civ5 GOTY as well.

    • +1

      How do you do that?

      • I bought something the other day and got a $10 visa checkout credit to use within 6 days. I think it's related to this visa checkout promo.

  • Can the 30 day trial be used as membership?

    • +1

      Yes

      • +6

Thanks. Between $5 mobile app credit, $10 referral credit, $20 + $10 + $10 visa checkout discounts (1c charge each time) I got:

        LEGO®: Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
        Civilization: Beyond Earth
        LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes
        Civilization 5
        Borderlands 2
        Borderlands
Deus Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut
        BioShock

        For a total of $0.03

  • +2

There is also a sale on Steam at the moment for Shadow of Mordor (mid-week madness), so once you've bought the base game for AU$9 you can upgrade to the GOTY edition for US$3.39 (about AU$4.75, I don't know if there's a conversion fee).

Edit: Although mind you, that Steam sale ends in about five and a half hours, so the key would need to be sent by Catch of the Day soon! I think it's likely the GOTY upgrade price will drop again for the Steam end of year sale anyway.

    • Sorry if this is a silly question but can't you just buy the GOTY upgrade beforehand?

      • +1

You can. Add this to cart and choose 'purchase and store in inventory'. When you get the code, redeem it and then redeem the goty upgrade from your inventory.

        • +1

          Thank you so much!

    • +1

You can add the goty upgrade in your inventory and then redeem it once you have activated the base game:
      http://store.steampowered.com/app/318550/

      • +2

Ah, you're right, that does work!

To make it clearer to readers, this works by selecting "Purchase as a gift" (if you try to purchase it outright you will get the message: "Your transaction failed because you are trying to buy 'Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - Upgrade to the GOTY Edition' which requires ownership of 'Middle-earth™: Shadow of Mordor™'. Please correct the error and try again.") Once you've selected this, click "Store the gift in my inventory to send later." The "gift" can then be redeemed to your own account once you have the base game.

  • +3

thanks, got 6 games for $1, visa checkout $20 credit, $10 store credit ..

  • +2

I got burned with these clowns when "Didgio" went out of business. Could not retrieve my key = no games for pennypacker.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/195018

  • +1

Seems like there is some infinite loophole where i buy games using visa checkout credit, and it gives me more visa checkout credit

    • +1

I got 1x$20 and 2x$10 visa credits and it stopped after that

      • yes your right it does stop
still, I got like 9 games with it

    • So you can still use it after purchasing something first using Visa checkout? So basically just buy a cheap game first, then get the credit then keep buying games and getting more credit??

      • +1

you could probably use the sign-up credit first

        • Yeah that's what I'm doing now.. although when I try and enter in the first code 'REWARD1' it says it can't apply the code. Or is it only applicable after you use Visa checkout first? Sorry, probably is a stupid question haha.

        • +1

          @Porthos:

not sure, I didnt' have to enter any code. Did it on my phone ios app after signing up - it automatically applied the sign-up credit discount
          and thereafter - I got 1x$20 and 2x $10 visa checkout credits

        • @Overtime2000:

Ah no you're right, just used the code first then added Dark Souls II and got $10.99 off the purchase :D Cheers for the help.

  • +1

7 games for $0.03 thanks to Visa Checkout and app credit.

  • +2

just got 9 games with the visacheckout credit loophole
    thanks OP

although it is likely I wont play any of them rofl

  • Anyone know if these games can be gifted to friends?

    • If it's a steam activation key you can just give the code to a friend, otherwise if you activate it it's locked to your steam account. Same applies to a non-steam digital code

  • good price for beyond earth

  • +1

how are these keys delivered, can i gift them to people? edit just asked above..

    • clearly we all rushed through and just ordered haha! I read on one of the pages that within 24 - 48 hrs after order confirmations that Steam codes would be provided… but there's not mention of that in the confirmation emails…

  • +3

to pre cancel the catch $69 subscription do i just need to take tick out of

Renew my subscription before it expires ..

  • is that cheap for middle earth?
or better to wait for a sale on steam?

    • Yeah, it's cheap. Right now Shadow of Mordor GOTY is 66% off on the Steam page, but even then that is US$22.43 (about AU$31.60). The upgrade to the GOTY edition (also discounted by 66%) is US$3.39 (about AU$4.75).

      • does the one on COTD need to be updated to the GOTY edition?

        • +1

          Edit: see below :)

        • +3

Yep, I'm pretty sure it's just the base game. The cost of upgrading it to the GOTY edition is cheap at the moment though because it's on Steam sale (buy the GOTY upgrade on Steam by purchasing it as a gift and then storing the gift in your inventory, to be redeemed once you have Shadow of Mordor in your library). :)

All in all, buying the base game from COTD and then the GOTY upgrade from Steam works out to be about $17.85 cheaper than buying the GOTY version from Steam.

        • +1

          @Lioness15:

          cheers!

          got

          Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
          Borderlands 2 GOTY
          Just Cause 2
          Lego: The Hobbit
          LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes

all for $10.01 (was able to get 2x $10 visa checkout credits)

          :D

  • Great deal but you need a visa card to register :( don't have one

    • +1

You can. Add all cards to your VISA checkout account, but catch of the day will only accept visa Or MasterCard when checking out with visa checkout, so if you have a MasterCard you can use visa checkout

  • +2

lol. this is awesome - forget the Steam sales. For a grand total of $10 I piked up:
    Dark Souls 2
    Shadow of Mordor
    Bioshock Infinite
    Just Cause 2
    Injustice

That's an average of $2 a piece - although part of me feels like I should play all my older Steam games which I haven't touched yet.

  • +2

Picked up Dark souls 2, Borderlands pre-sequel, Civ V, Chivalry, and Shadow of Mordor for $1.02. Deal of the month :D

    Thanks Op!

Edit: Just noticed if visa decided to give $20 discount both times instead of 2x $10 after, I could have paid just $0.03 for everything. The ozbargain blood in me is raging lol ;)

  • any xbox games?

  • Omfg if only this was posted earlier…. Hope it's still alive in the morning

  • +3

I've been ozbargaining for a while now. I think I went too far this time

    • You bought them all didn't you lol

  • +1

Ah wish i had the visa checkout credit for Shadows of Mordor, but managed to pick up something with the new app credit. Thanks!

    • +1

Check your email invoice and enable images. It might show you are eligible for $20 off next order.

      • Oh I got that just now, thanks! is there a coupon to enter or just automatic?

        • +1

Automatic once you pick visa check out :)

        • +1

@watty: Thanks! Hopefully the keys come soon.

        • @Venom_TAG: No worries mate, I'm over the moon with my buys. Going to be quite busy this Uni break!

  • Got Beyond Earth for $0.01 after $20 visa checkout credit. I was emailed $10 credit so bought Dark Souls 2 for $1. Then got another email for one more $10 credit so I bought Mordor for $0.01 .

Christmas gifts sorted for friends. Thanks OP.

I used the mobile credit for some sunnies a few days ago.

Edit: I hope they don't cancel these :S

  • +1

Can someone please explain what is visa checkout? and how does it work? where can i sign up? Thank you!!!

    • If you've done a purchase from cotd check the emailed invoice+images to see whether they indicated you would get $10/$20 off your next purchase if you use visa checkout. If so, add games to cart, and register with visa checkout during cotd checkout. The amount will be deducted automatically.

      • How long ago does the last purchase have to be?

        • The promo started a week or two ago I believe.

  • Just a quick question about the Club Catch Membership. If I untick the "Renew my subscription before it expires" I won't be charged at the end of the trail period right? Just making sure since there's no way of removing my card details from the site.

    • Yep that's correct. Best to set a reminder/calendar event anyway though.

      • Sweet thanks Fry :) Yeah already set on my phone for the end of the week (assuming I get my keys by then).

        • Might want to keep it a bit longer for future deals exclusive to club catch :)

        • +1

@fryandlaurie: Ah very true! Will adjust. Thanks again :)

  • Anyone know if dying light is worth it?

  • +4

    So I managed to get:
    Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
    Dark Souls II
    Alien: Isolation Nostromo Edition
    Metro: Last Light (Complete Edition)
    Euro Truck Simulator 2
    Chivalry: Medieval Warfar
    Dying Light
Deus Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut

    All up for $16.01 :)

    • YOUUUUUUU GOTTTT THE METROOO LAST LIGHTTTTT NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

      (add game to cart, soldout)

      • +1

        Haha sorry mate!!

I actually added LEGO®: The Hobbit and Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition for an extra $0.01c as I forgot I had another spare visa checkout on another account :P

Now just to wait and hope I get all the keys :)

        • Lol well i bought all the other games i wanted, plus i don't even have a PC yet…

Just realized that in the images i posted it says

"special order - ships between 2 to 4 weeks or something"

I hope keys don't arrive at a later date lol…

        • @Tehcookiemonsta: Damn good way to get some games for your PC then!!

They shouldn't take that long, COTD said the same thing a few months (or maybe it was last year, I can't remember) where they had a big digital games sale again, the keys came within 2 days I think it was.

        • @Porthos: Indeed also picked up witcher 1 and 2 for good prices at gog from a sale here :)

  • +1

COTD might have figured this out as the digital games sale seems to have disappeared from the app and the website unless you know the link..

But I picked up Darksouls 2 x 2 (One is for a friend), Shadow of Mordor and Borderlands 3. Score!

  • +1

Ahhh it used to be at the top and I kept scrolling and couldnt find it.

  • Surprised. Not bad.

Still won't join club catch though.

  • +2

  • +1

Bugger, missed out on Metro Last Night :(

  • Great deals, grabbed myself a few games for less than $5. Hopefully they honour the free ones :).

  • Oh man. nice deals.

I can't be bothered doing it though, either I have the games or I probably won't play em.

  • Are these redeemable on steam>?

  • +3

Did anyone else's Visa Checkout stop working?

Admittedly I did get Darksouls 2 (x2), Civ 5, Borderlands 3, Borderlands 2, Shadow of Mordor and Dark Souls 1 before the $10 credit didnt appear anymore.

This cost me $18 though. I could have got it for $8 but I was only allowed three games per catch account, so made another and thought I had to also make another Visa Checkout account which didnt give me a $10 credit until after my first purchase.

But this was a hell of a deal OP.

  • +1

Does it only work if paying with Visa Checkout?

I cannot register for Visa Checkout as my credit cards are from a country not on their list so I cannot give them my correct billing address.

Would anybody be willing to trade games they bought but already have? Happy to trade multiple games for one.

In particular I am after Shadow of Mordor, Dark Souls 1 and Just Cause 2.

Also happy to pay $2 a game by Paypal as that will work.

I hate this limitation with Visa Checkout - so people from the UK and Europe in general cannot register at all.

    • I got dark souls 1 but you're probably more likely to play than me. For club catch you just turn off auto renewal apparently.

      • Happy to trade if you want or pay you by paypal - whichever you prefer.
        Will PM you my list.

Edit: Realised I cannot PM you as you have not allowed for that. If you will I am happy to PM you my list.

  • How can one actually cancel club catch? I only see the option to not automatically renew but cannot see a cancel option.

  • +2

I can't give enough ++++++++++ to the OP.

Did what the comments suggested and here are the steps

    1. download COTD app on mobile, get $5
    2. signup for premium membership, 30 day trial
    3. cancel renewal of premium membership
    4. buy game for $5 (free) - select visa checkout
    5. visa checkout gives you $20 credit (should display on invoice)
    6. buy some more games for $20, get charged 1c
    7. get another $10 from visa checkout (should display on invoice)
    8. spend another $10 on more game(s), get charged another 1c

I got up to step 8 before VISA checkout stopped rewarding me. Total haul was lego batman, lego hobbit, shadows of mordor and borderlands pre-sequel

    Now back to playing LotV.

Edit: Thanks OP, forgot my manners

    • Another ++++++++++++++ for the OP. This deal was like crack.

  • What am I doing wrong?
    - Downloaded the app, created new account and didn't get the $5.
    - Started free trial and then cancelled the auto resubscribe.
    - Referred my brother, he got $10 but I got nothing.
    - Bought a game for $5 with Visa Checkout, got nothing.
    Pls help

    • +1

Can you check the emailed receipt from COTD with images on to see whether they have given you a $20/$10 off next order? It should look like this:

      https://i.imgur.com/kQgi4k7.png

Are you using the android or ios app?

      • Ah sweet, got the $10 voucher. Thanks mate. Too bad all the games are gone now :P
        I'm using the Android app.

    • -1

You're a tad late champ, this morning it seems they've stopped dishing out the Visa $10/$20 off.

      • -4

        I still got one, champ.
