  • Sorry all… it was added originally, must of glitched out.

    • Your title still looks quite "glitched out"

      • Should be good now. Thanks for that.

Good on you for giving it a try at a private label. A few points of feedback that may help you:

    • currently the effort is simply casing a $30 Miyota quartz movement - presumably all done overseas. Same as plenty of branded watches, from Adidas to Fossil, all to be found around $70-$100 on sale, ebay, etc. You're competing with them, so you may be overstating the "luxury" aspect?
    • the photos on your website don't reflect a high level of QA - the different hands are a bit out of alignment, the side brand engraving seems skewed as well. At best, that may cause some concern with people finicky about details like me :) At worst, it will contribute to buyer remorse and tank your reputation before getting started
    • have a look at whatchuseek forums - plenty of ideas and coverage of microbrands, designs, etc. - will give you an idea about your competition

Hope this helps and good luck.

    • Appreciate the feedback!

Agree with the feedback above. I wear startup/microbrand watches to support local businesses but I also want to spend the money where it fills a niche for me.

I'd also argue it's better to just to say "Established in 2015 as an exciting bla bla bla…" rather than "coined" in 2011. Just makes you look like you sat on your arse for 4 years before you decided to do something about it. Sorry to be blunt.

Why not tell us a story about the name Taautus, what makes your watch special and who you guys are

No problem - like catear says above, there is a market for microbrand/independent watch makers.

There are a few players in Australia already, like Bausele, Adina, Haigh & Hastings, Melbourne Watch Co, etc. Have a look at what they do, how successful they are, what is the gap and go for it.

Customer experience, value (as in best quality at your chosen price point) and service will build or kill your endeavour.

Best of luck - I'd like to see a thriving market.

        • Thank you floppydesk and catear for your comments. I have taken your comments into consideration.

          Very much appreciated

    • I think it's competing with likes of Daniel Wellington watches and similar which are over 200.
the engraved side looks a little off maybe because of the light and dark reflections on the polished curved edge.

Dont forget WR is 30 metres.

  • How's the lume on the hands. Is it any good?

    • Only the noble luminates in the dark, the other range "six" does not. In the darkness it is definitely noticeable.
