    Need more price in title.

I guess a good deal for those that didn't get it for free in September.

Anyone who doesn't have Ori and the Blind Forest should be ashamed…and get it right now.

    • why?

It's one of those clear 'passion' games where every aspect feels like a work of art (sound, visuals, animation, gameplay, etc), and spent 4 years in development. A lot like Journey or Pixar movies where you can tell everyone involved invested a lot of themselves in it.

They did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit that was excellent and gave some great insight into how big of an undertaking it was for a tiny team separated around the world with individual team members in Australia, Israel, US, Austria, etc.

Basically can't say enough good things about the game, and well worth even the RRP.

Here's the trailer if you're not aware of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cklw-Yu3moE

        • I have never been so emotionally invested in a game before the prologue is even completed - awesome stuff!

I don't know how ashamed I'm going to be but I purchased it. This seems a reasonable price.

    • Did just that. Been waiting for ages for it to go on special just a little bit so I jumped on this! Thanks OP

  • Guys, perhaps use this deal first? 25% off Microsoft Store gift cards (with 8% cashback through Cashrewards)

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/220289
    http://www.cashrewards.com.au/coupons/25-off-windows-gift-ca…

And then use the gift cards to buy the games?

    • Unfortunately those codes can only be used in digital stores (eg. Xbox store on consoles, store on Windows phones), not to buy things on MS Store.

      • Their giftcard policies are so weird… there's no clear indication that it can't be used on the Microsoft Store… except that it doesn't mention it :( confused

It does say in the T&Cs:

"Works with Windows 10 PCs, tablets and phones, Windows 8.1, Windows Phone 8, Xbox One and Xbox 360 (Xbox Live required). Not redeemable on earlier versions. Music: Only for purchase of tracks, albums and music pass on Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 PCs and tablets, or music pass on Xbox One (Xbox Live required)."
"…may be used for eligible purchases (exclusions apply) made directly at select Microsoft digital stores."

Clearly for device digital stores/downloads only, not buying physical items & physical/digital prepaid codes from their website. It's also the same as it's been in previous sales of this set of prepaid currency.

It's a nice idea to try, but several OzBargainers tried this in previous sales. :-)

        • @Linkwick:

"…may be used for eligible purchases (exclusions apply) made directly at select Microsoft digital stores."

THAT bit is the one that gets me (did you see any exclusion list, I didn't), yeah, common knowledge it can't be used for hardware though

        • @kudoz83: I think you're mis-interpreting "Microsoft digital stores". They mean stores purely for digital items, eg. Xbox console store, Windows phone store - purely stores on devices, and digital content within them.

They don't mean microsoftstore.com or digital codes on that website. It sells physical goods & gift codes. You've never been able to use prepaid credit on it.
It's the same as how you can only use cr cards or "Apple store" gift cards on Apple.com - you can't buy stuff with prepaid iTunes credit, as iTunes credit is for Apple's digital stores & content only.

Why isn't the new Tomb Raider on sale for the new console!!! Argh it's like the only game I haven't bought and the only one NOT on sale.

  • For those playing at home this was in games for gold in september so make sure u know this before you buy it

    • Yep, I got it for free. However this is good for those that don't have a Gold subscription.
