  • Good price aslong as you don't mind

Please note: this item has been professionally refurbished. "You may see some cosmetic blemishes or slight scratches" and your item may arrive in generic packaging but the working order of this item is as new and comes with a 12 month warranty

FYI this is Acer's first generation Windows 8 tablet with Clovertrail (really slow) processor and grimy display. It is not the same one featured at MSY couple of months back.
Do take note it runs windows 8.0 and not Win 8.1, so you'll need to update.

Anyway I'd much rather get a Chuwi Vi8, it'll cost you a little more but at least with a more updated SOC, updated Windows 8.1 and a display that doesn't look like it's been wrapped in Glad Wrap.

    • Baytrail?
Edit: you are right! This is W3 the was W4

    • Yup. I have an Asus VivoTab Smart with the same CPU and you can feel the lag even with relatively light browsing. Won't play Twitch.tv videos smoothly via Flash either, but the (unofficial) Windows app largely works. I also have a Lenovo Miix 2 10, which has the newer Bay Trail SoC - and it feels much more responsive.

    • 1+ for chuwi, I just bought the chuwi hi8 (full HD IPS screen but less powerful battery than vi8), still doing initial checks but so far very impressed. It came with win10 and android 4.4.4

Have absolutely no need for it as I recently just upgraded to an iPad Air 2.

But I bought it anyway. FML I need help. Cheers OP.

    • I've already got a Surface, a Dell Venue 8 Pro, more laptops in my house than people, a couple of desktops and consoles galore so don't need one either.

But FML too! Just got me one.

At least I'll have something to use now when the Venue 8 is flat.

At least I know I'm not the only one! <3

      • Having that much depreciating tech sitting unused would make me anxious. I no longer hoard computers, phones, tablets, because it's a waste of money and there is always a newer/faster model around the corner.

lol, I've got my original Atari and VIC20 in the shed and I think they are starting to gain value now.

Saw the prices on a couple of the old Atari game boxes , I can't believe games were $70-$80 in the 70's (and especially can't believe my pauper parents paid for them).

        • It is depressing and I personally believe it's challenging to resist all these deals sometimes :(

        • @tonka: I still can't believe my mum donated/gave away my Atari 2600 and Sega Mega Drive when I was a kid. She is too anti-clutter. Now that I am an adult she knows that touching anything in my room is completely off-limits.

        • @Kaboda: think about that is more depressed to have junks all over at home and don't know where to put.

        • @eatwell365:

I am moving out and I am dealing with that exact issue right now. I need an insurance scam.

  • with cherry trail out now in full swing this is equivalent of using a core2duo in tablet world

  • sold out

  • I have one of these from when they originally came out. Fine for browsing the web, MsOffice or watching streaming shows. While under warranty, my wireless network card died so the unit had to be sent away for repair. When it came back, there was an issue with the screen so had to send it straight back for repair again. Since then it has been fine though.

  • So what is everyone else thinking of theirs? I realised after I purchased it that I can use it as a Spotify streaming to a few Bluetooth speakers I have around my place.

Only problem is, didn't realise bloody Windows 8 and 8.1 put the thing to sleep so you can't stream it unless you have the screen on!! No wonder Windows 8 tablets are useless, my iPhone and iPad can easily keep streaming and playing music when they're 'sleeping' but the Windows 8 tablet can't. An absolute failure from MS unless there's something special that I'm missing??

Apart from that it's a decent thing, my iPad kicks its arse in every other way, but for the price I can't really complain too much I guess.
