Myer had this for $600 delivered a month ago. Surely you can do better

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/214690

Edit: It's still $600 at Myer once you add it to the cart No Deal

Rio just dropped it from $699, lol.

      • Still Cheaper at Myer. How about $550?

Thanks for the heads up. We have just dropped the price again to $595. Rio sound and vision stands by it's Price Guarantee.

Good job. Won't let me change it from a Negative to a Positive. If you can drop from $699 to $648 to $595 how much further can you go? $527?

  • http://www.productreview.com.au/p/philips-fidelio-htl9100.ht… seems to have the most honest user reviews.

  • I got this (profanity)

    http://www.sony.com.au/product/ht-st7

450 watts rms 7.1 HD DTS etc

    • That looks nice. How's it fare / how much was it?

      • 1200 RRP, got ex display model from Costco docklands for 599

its pretty rare to find a sound bar with 7.1 and 450 watts…

        • I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your sony soundbar is not 7.1. It may have 7 speakers but 7.1 surround sound requires 4 of those 7 speakers to be behind you. All cars have 4 wheels but that does not make them 4WD.
You have 7 speakers all next to each other firing forward. So your soundbar may decode 7 channels but really isn't anything more than 2.1

        • @JasonRio:

Completley aware friend. Its "virtual 7.1" and not real 7.1

I wont lie its the a KICK AS$ system that is worth 1200….. considering space and the fact it looks very pretty with no wires whatsever…

  • Should note that this is now superseded and the Fidelio B5 has finally reached Australian Shores.(http://www.harveynorman.com.au/tv-blu-ray-home-theatre/home-…)

The main difference between the two is that the B5 has volume controls on the detachable speakers and a new algorithm which adjusts the volume of the surround speakers depending on the distance from the base unit to deliver better surround sound.

  • Was put off this one as the wireless rear speakers just replicate the sound coming out of the front speakers. There is no volume control to turn them down either

    Good idea though

  • How are these sound bar systems compared with basic home theatre system like Yamaha Home Theatre System 500W 5.1 YHT-2910 BT in terms of sound performance (clarity & bass for music and movies) E.g. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/216510
The best speaker in my house is logitech 5.1 speaker (previous model of z506).
I'm looking to buy a better one for TV in living room with price around $500-$600. Thanks :-)

  • Think I'n going to pull the trigger shortly on this one from Q Acoustics.

Has great reviews and built in sub woofer so no cables

    • thanks :) that's how you do ozbargain right.

I wonder if there are any Myer coupons… ;)

As far as I know, Costco Dockland is selling exactly the same product at AU$495 . I don't know how many stocks remaining today. But if you like it, it worth try to have a look at it. Even you buy the membership for AU$60 a year, still cheaper than the price posted here.

  • is this worth it? any one here own this? or should i invest in a 5.1 for that price? Thank you.

  • Just ordered one! Hope i made the right choice…
