Dyson V6 Mattress is currently on special US$ 187.49 at Amazon (25% off). It's never been on sale before.

This model is currently NOT available locally in Australia. Good if you're considering to get either:

• DC58 which is the previous model but has the same engine & attachments compatibility. It comes with Animal attachment, while this one comes with Mattress attachment.
• DC43H which is even older, using the previous generation engine. It also comes with Mattress attachment, but the engine is less powerful. So the V6 Mattress is the direct replacement for DC43H.

Both models above have been discontinued in US.

  This is the DC58 in a different colour, anyone considering this I would highly recommend heading to a local store that stocks the DC58 and negotiating. They will generally come down to ~$329 but this will give you 2 years of Australian Dyson warranty as well as a physical store to return to should you have issues.

  You also won't have to buy an adaptor that would set you back ~$10

  As for the mattress/animal tool, it's the same tool with a different name and colour. A mini motorised head.

    Well they always promote the Mattress tool to release dust mites and allergens, just like the DC43H which is priced only slightly less than the DC58 because of this (although it's regularly on clearance). Not sure how effective it is but reading the reviews seems like it does its advertised function quite well.

    I do not recommend DC58 because it does not come with the long wand with motorised head. AFAIK none of the attachments that are sold separately fit the DC58. Cleaning requires constant bending over or kneeling & it is back breaking. Why should we keep bending over to do our vacuum chores?! Better off paying a bit more for the other models.

      I agree with this.
      I have a DC58 animal and Dyson.au refused to sell me the wand and turbo head to convert it to the DC59 animal.
      They spun me a load of crap saying it's not compatible and I need to upgrade.
      Ended up buying the wand and head from the UK and its been working perfect since but it was a lot of stuffing around.

      It's a common lie from Dyson. They are the exactly the same. The Mattress tool is just the standard mini motorhead like the one come with DC59 animal. Dyson always refuse to sell the accessories unless you provide them with your machine serial number. They just want to cover the low end market better but at the same time stopping the "professionals like us" from buying the cheaper models then adding the premium accessories separately.

      Only exception is the new high power motorhead (look like this - turn over the motorhead and see 16.2V - 35W) can only be used on some higher end V6 models.

      DC59 use 20W motorhead and the wand will fit DC58. (Read the reviews here and here). You can get it from all over the web (e.g. eBay, Amazon).
      You can also use a Hardfloor Fluffy motorheads on a DC58/59.

  Does the charger even work with 240V? If you buy from Amazon US I would assume that it's running on 110V.

  Actually tour better off spending $100 more and getting it locally with the wand and floor motorised head when on special.

    Yeah I totally agree unless you have some special use case such as it being 100% for car cleaning or spot cleans on sofas and the like between visits from a professional cleaner.
