It's cheaper to park in the Long Term Parking at the airport even after the 40% discount.

    Sample: In Jan 02 14:00, out Jan 10 15:00.
Ace Parking $57.40, plus a 10 minute drive to terminal
Airport Long Term $56.00, 3-5 minutes to terminal

    Sorry, but no deal…

    • How about with the $10 back with AMEX?

    • Yep Ive found that since the offsite Melbourne airport parking has come in, it's online bookings (massive discount) is cheaper then everywhere else and IMO more convinient.

Plus use coupon "JETSTAR" for 10% off Airport long term

      • If you want undercover parking it will be cheaper with Ace.

      • Just trying to book on Melbourne Airport long term parking right now, can't seem to find a section to add coupon code?

      • Nice one.

      • Just tried this on a quote of $83, brought the price down to $79.

5% is still better than nothing, cheers :)

    • Is it always 3-5 minutes to the terminal though?

Does the shuttle bus leave from within a few metres of where you park the car or do you have to walk to a stop? How long is the potential walk? It looks like a very big area.

Is there a shuttle bus there waiting for you or do you have to wait until one arrives? How long is the potential wait?

These are genuine questions as I've never parked in long term parking. I have used plenty of offsite services though and I find they're convenient in two ways - the shuttle is right where you leave the car and I know that I'll be at the airport within 15 minutes in total every time which is all I need (at least with A1 and Jetport, haven't used Ace).

      • Walk to any 1 of the 8 stops is never more than 1 minute, buses come past every 5 minutes, takes 3-5 minutes to drive to terminal.

Best case is no walk (park at a station), no wait, 3 minutes to terminal.
Worst case is 2 minute walk, 5 minute wait, 5 minute drive. But i've never had this worst case (and i travel at least once a month)

Potential wait on arrival is supposed to be 5 minutes during peak times, 10 off peak. Usually this is right.
Airport LTP is good for early\late flights, or when you will arrive back early\late, as there is no hassle.

OZB is about price, so as previous people have noted, off-site undercover is cheaper than airport undercover, but cheapest option overall is LTP at airport. But no matter what the price, it's overpriced. Countries with 16m people (Netherlands) and 1 international airport charge $72 for 8 days outdoor parking - given demand, that's reasonable. But we have fields and fields around the airport, and greedy operators (and lazy governments).

        • Thanks for the info. I might give LTP a go next time.

  • Update the title to reflect only Melbourne Airport ?? OR can I use it for Sydney as well ?
