Found iPhone 6, what to do?

Okay, as per title, I found iPhone 6 on the street, the battery is almost flat and I don't have iPhone charger.

What to do now?

If by the time the battery flat, the owner is not ringing me, what can I do with this iPhone?

UPDATE: Okay, I managed to purchase iPhone charger from local shop (as suggested below), and the owner called this morning and I returned the iPhone. Thanks for the suggestions guys!

  • I've done this for other mobiles I found on the street.

Look through the message history and message the last few people and type "This person has lost their mobile phone, please ask the owner to call <my phone number> so I can return it to them."

Some people are like "meh, give me my phone", others are really grateful.

Also, for incoming calls (that appear as a name), don't answer, but send out an SMS as above. Then the owner (or a friend of the owner) will contact you to return the phone.

Hope they get their phone back and you get a reward of some sort.

    • Same. I've seen that. In High School my friend picked up a phone on the street and was walking it to the station when it rings and this guy runs up behind us and starts asking why he took the phone off the street and what his first name was and how he was going to report him to the school (he wore a Year 12 jersey with his surname on the back). My friend was like 'WTF who leaves their phone on the street on purpose then accuses another of stealing it?'
The guy NEVER ONCE said thank you. He wanted my friend to apologise.

  • Glad to see it was returned to its rightful owner: Google "theft by finding" plus your state.

IANAL - you can't just say "I found it, so it's mine now."

  • Found an Iphone 7 , oh my what to do?

Used it to take photos of the winning lotto numbers in all the big games taking place between 27 Nov 2015 and your current date. Send them to me. I will then attempt to find the owner and together we'll wait for you to travel back in time so we can meet you and show you how grateful we are.

  • OP done the right thing in the end so top marks old chap:)

+1 to the OP for returning it.
Unless the owner specifically disable it, most iPhones are iTunes locked so only the original owner can unlock it.

Well theres one more option and that is to leave it where you found it. Let some other person who is more professional to handle the situation.

I would have ranked by Scrapper Perk, scrapped it for the circuit board, steel and plastic…oh and hopefully a couple of screws.

    Then upgraded my pistol.

  • Found a blackberry phone at a park bench once it wasn't locked so went through text messages to find out had to trawl through a heap of dic.ky and bo.oby picks in text from alot of different people. I hope this is not the norm.
Got a bottle of wine out of it
