lol Pure VPN 5yr Lifetime still I see.

  • I am still not sure if I should get Netflix Lifetime. Why would a company change a subscription model with yearly payments to a one off lifetime purchase which is only 2 years worth … They might try to cash in and get as much money as possible knowing that the service might not work in the future … Maybe I am just paranoid.

I am a happy user of Getflix for nearly 1 year now … can't complain about the service. I pay 25AU$ for the yearly plan (which is due next week) … ah well … in the worst case I lost $20 (for the upgrade from yearly to lifetime) with the potential of saving money when it works longer than a year.

    Thanks scotty …

    • yep that's a good risk. they're fairly popular, so have mney coming in, you'd think they'd last 2 years.
Lifetime models can't be sustainable. I wonder if some of them are doing a pump & dump (up subscribers & sell the company). Otherwise it's just a pyramid scheme.

      • There is also mentioned: "Minor updates included"

What about major updates. They might know that you need IPV6 or some other major upgrade to use the service in the future. Meaning you need to pay extra again some day … but that is just my opinion … lifetime can't work long term for them … not at that price.

  • PIA is MIA..

  • ProXPN has an interesting feature
"VPN Guard, which allows you to select which programs should automatically shut down if your proXPN VPN connection drops"

    • Most popular VPN providers have a client with a kill switch for selected programs should the VPN connection drop.

  • Turboflix - it's just Netflix - what a waste! $5 extra gets you GetFlix & it unblocks lots more content.
personally I think dns4me beats them all, but for $46 getflix is a winner.

Well I actually took the plunge & ordered the Purevpn "lifetime". I've been meaning to sign up to a proper provider for a while now.

Whilst lifetime subscription models can't be sustainable, there are 2 caveats I can see:
    1) gain capital to build infrastructure, in which case a few lifetime leechers may be easily handled.
    2) more importantly, this particular "lifetime" is considered a 5 year "free" (but premium) subscription by Purevpn. Instructions are "Your initial subscription term is for 5 years. At the conclusion of your 5-year term, please contact [email protected] to renew for an additional 5 years completely free-of-charge!"… So the chances are someone will be out of business by then, or user will have lost/forgotten details, or user will have simply stopped caring about the service.

At any rate, even if only 5 years, seems a good price for what appears to be a good service.
