Beware. Lenovo has the worst customer support I've ever experienced. I've been waiting for over 2 months for them to fix my tablet. They sent it back to me still not having fixed the problem and with 2 fresh scratches on the screen. They sent out a tech to my house (twice) who replaced a part and now it won't even turn on. The tech gave up because his contact at Lenovo couldn't help him get it working. Now I have an expensive brick and I'm still left pestering Lenovo to fix it.

    • I know what you mean. Their products used to be the best in quality, then couple of years ago they lost their game. However, now they are coming back and i found their quality and support much better than HP and even Toshiba.

      • and support much better than HP and even Toshiba.

I've never had a reason to get my Toshibas serviced…

I am still using Toshiba and was best product ever, but now check out new models in market the quality of product is not what it used to be.

  • Mmm not sure is really a deal with those specs?
I am using a Dell Inspiron I got last year with same CPU.
But with 16GB Ram, 1TB Hybrid Drive, FHD Touch Screen and a dedicated R7 265M

That was for extra $200, last year. Tech should have moved on from then?

Sadly $$ going down has caused spike in prices. i myself paid $550 for ultrabook with i5 and 6GB, SSD version and 2 years later i cant even find same specs and quality in market.

    Display 15.6" HD(1366 x 768)

I can actually see the pixels on picture in your link…

  • Seems like a decent deal to me but I'm not experienced with lenovo laptops, heard good things but this price seems too good to be true, also just 12 in shipping.

What's the catch here? After a new laptop, almost went with the MS store Dell Inspiron 5000 for 699, that's an i5 this is an i7.

    Any thoughts? Thanks.

The MS store Dell is a better computer in my opinion FHD touch screen 8Gb RAM and no bloatware. Sadly the offer expired last night.

I think the price is good for i7. But that Dell one has better resolution FHD, 8GB ram and touch screen. No dvd drive.

    • Dell does have a dvd drive.

      • Nope, Microsoft signature edition one does not have DVD drive, confirmed with them and Dell yesterday. the pictures are correct but specification is incorrect.

        • Are you talking about this one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/220310
I have it and yes it has a dvd drive.

        • @robotdad: I did check with Dell, agent mentioned Microsoft version is Dell 5548 (was also confirmed by microsoft) which have FHD screen and touch but no DVD drive. Also it was not launched by Dell in Australia and Europe but America. The one dell is selling in Australia is 5558 with non-touch, and HD graphics.

        • @b4rgainhunter: just checked the model that I have. It is the 5558, it has a touchscreen and a dvd drive . Purchased from the link above

        • @robotdad: thanks for confirming. Hows your experience with this been. Good performance and worth this price?

        • @b4rgainhunter:
The 5558 seems to have been a good set of specs for the dollars, which in my book means good value and a bargain. 85+ (4000 clicks) on Ozbargain is sufficient evidence to demonstrate that others thought it was a bargain too. I could not see anything close to that feature V $$.
It is my first Win 10 machine so I cant comment on how good or bad it is to others. The HD screen is lovely and the colours great. It is not the brightest of monitors though. Touchsreeen works great, and now I miss having it on my other pcs.
I havent played any games on it so I cant comment on its performance there. The sound is surprisingly loud from the tiny speakers. Sound quality is more than ok too. Yes it is heavy. I'm treating it as a desktop replacement, but it wont be moved any further than various rooms of the house.
