I had no idea what this post was about but apparently if you select one item from each group A,B and C you pay $499 plus shipping

Be careful you don't end up buying the Vivosmart tablet, this is an ancient device and should not be worth any more than $160. I find it incredible they actually gave it a higher RRP than the newer H100TA that comes with a keyboard dock.

    • This x 100. I am amazed they have the price for that tablet at $469. From memory it was available for only $299 many months ago.

      • Yeah, this item should not be in Group A.

  • I'm in the market for a new modem and am considering the Netgear D7800. Wondering if I should jump onto this deal or wait for the next eBay coupon with a $50 / $100 voucher. The current eBay tech sale only includes older model modems.

    • Normally a $488 modem yeah?

So just depends if you can find $100 value between Group B and C. Given there's a 3TB HDD or 240GB SSD there, should be able to but that's your call!

      • Ah that's the dilemma.. :)

    • Might want to ask yourself whether you need a such high-end modem router and if you do enough file transfers to make the most of it's routing speed. Most people should be OK with a lower priced model, like the D6300, or the Archer D7 or D9.

      • I'm drawn to this by the MU-MIMO and Quad Stream functionality more than the transfer speeds. I live in a double-storey house and have poor coverage with my current modem so I want to make sure that I get the best-performing modem in terms of wifi coverage.

        • MU-MIMO and Quad Stream functionality

This features won't give you extra range or brick wall penetration. These features do however do provide better bandwidth to each device connected, but they have nothing to add in terms of range.

5ghz Wireless signals also have reduced range compared to 2.4ghz wifi and do not penetrate walls very well.

          have poor coverage

Just so you know, the only thing that can fix your issue is to have one more bridged router downstairs or upstairs, or to use a Powerline adapter, or a combination of both.

        • @scrimshaw:
Ah ok.. thanks for the comments scrimshaw. So you reckon for a total of 5-6 devices, a D7000 would perform just as well as the D7800? I need something that is wall-mountable, which rules out the Archers.

        • @scrimshaw: or a couple of unifi range extenders. I have two over four storeys and I have 100% coverage, with not a single hassle. The have wired connections, though, so I don't know about them as wifi repeaters. But I've read they are good for that too.

        • @fishybone:

Next best thing might be the D-Link DSL-2880AL ($150 ish) then. Wall mountable form factor… I think.

or spend extra for the D6300 ($200 ish). The ports are all on the back, I don't know if that sort of design allows wall mount.

  • Shame there's no Z170 to go with that 6600k :(

Their previous deal also like that :D
      only H170 avail

      • Fizzer :0

  • How do people rate the Asus transformer book?

Are there better 2 in 1 options for ~$500 aud that people can recommend?

NEG because this is a shady way to get Up votes, By the end you've bought more products than you need and it isn't value for money at all.

    Unnecessarily complicated deal

OP, Neg is for Shopping Express not you, Thanks for the effort.

    • +1

Your neg is because of your recent forum post, so there's obvious bias behind it.

this is a shady way to get Up votes

SE didn't post it, I did, they don't create sales based on OzBargain.

By the end you've bought more products than you need and it isn't value for money at all.

Combo's at your local takeaway, same thing. That doesn't mean there isn't value behind it. Many of the Group A items sell for over $400 elsewhere.

      • OK Agreed, I am obviously biased, Never said I love SE. They did indulge in shoddy tactics there.

Group A items sell for over $400 elsewhere.

And if you could buy it by itself then certainly I'd upvote this too. but by having to spend another 100 $ on items that aren't as good value, imho it is not as good a deal. Again mate, nothing against you.

dealman, not a good reason to neg. You can simply ignore the deal if you don't like it.

It is good deal for me as I have selected QNAP TS-251 2 Bay Hotswap NAS Diskless,Seagate NAS 3TB SATA 3.5" Internal Hard Drive and Belkin Thunderstorm Home Theater.

        Ok Point taken

I don't understand why these trifecta deals aren't getting hundreds of upvotes. I bought a Netgear Arlo and a Sphero separately last week funnily enough, missing out on the last trifecta deal by a day because I procrastinated so much about which category C item to choose. Of course I contacted Shopping Express and they didn't want to help me and honour the deal the day it expired (saying I needed to wait until Christmas for the deal to return, and yet it's back already…) and so lost my $499, but having paid $357.60 for the Arlo from Good Guys with 20% off and $159.20 for the Sphero from Toys R s (20% off also) I would have saved $17 getting it from here and then received a free Category C item on top. This is a good deal!
