Belvedere Vodka 1L $65 at ALDI (Duty Free is about $70)

690

Last time ALDI did Belvedere 1L it was $70 so even cheaper now. Dan has it for $75 ($70 delivery special) but will likely drop very soon. Boozle has never seen it below $75 but Boozle does not check ALDI prices.

Whilst duty free usually has better deals when buying 2 bottles, if you are not travelling OS (especially Singapore) anytime soon, this is a great price on a great vodka.

Recommended to have with with soda and fresh lime to combat the summer sun and beer gut.

LA Maxi Ice…. until they changed to 2ltrs and ripped me off 250ml.

  • "Whilst duty free usually has better deals when buying 2 bottles.."

Is that for Belvedere or spirits in general? I have family traveling between hong kong and Australia this week and I want them to get a nice deal on something for me at Duty Free. I'm not picky with what I drink but I almost always use a mixer with spirits so..

    • You can have a squiz at pricing online - https://www.firstdutyfree.com.au/default.aspx and even order for them to pick it up

      • Great for an idea but often does not show their specials. As an example coming through Melbourne Tullamarine last month they had $20.00 off for 2 bottles of Johnnie Walker Black as a promo but it wasn't listed on the website.

2 for $125 at Sydney Duty free ($75 each)

…makes this Aldi deal very good….but

Nobody beats Dan's $64.95 delivery only
(same $7 delivery to metro, but are there any Dan's coupons??)

6% cashback with cashrewards too, which makes this an even better deal.

I'm curious to know why Vodka (and/or Tequila) is more expensive than Whiskeys in AU? In SG, Vodka and Tequila cost almost half of the likes of JW and Chivas (SG$20~ vs SG$40~)

    • Availability probably?

There's plenty of cheap brand Vodka/Tequilla in Aus that are cheaper than Whiskeys (don't exactly recommend them). I remember a vodka down at my local liquor joint called Akva or something. Was about $12 a bottle - tasted like turps.

Personally I think you get what you pay for with Vodka/Tequilla mainly due to distilling process. For good clear liqueurs, you want the "hearts" (higher quality) cuts from distilling, and the percentage of them per volume of alcohol distilled is low, hence why cheap Vodka (taken from lesser quality cuts) taste like fuel and more expensive stuff can taste better… anyway, going a bit off topic here. Worth looking up though, very interesting!

      • Be careful with the $20 and below "vodkas" most are pre-mixed and low alcohol

      • tasted like turps

LOL so you have tasted turps?

As for the better tasting thru higher quality distilling, that can be true, but it doesnt add $50 to the price. Take the tax out, which is based on alcohol content and the difference is even greater, as this is a fixed "cost" part of the total price.

So JaxS, it comes down to the real cost, marketing and the perceptions that its quality because of it's price

When mixed, while many may discern the difference in taste from a $12 bottle (which I doubt you can ever get again), the difference from a $50 bottle and a $75 bottle would be harder to detect.

    • preferred by tees to limit smell?

  • Can get a 3L or 6L bottle of the same from Costco but not sure of the price

    • +3

      3L is 246.99. 6L is 493.98.

(just checked a photo i took for fun)

      • +3

        Well that makes this deal $65 * 6 = $390 for 6L of Vodka.

On the other hand, if you are buying Vodka in those volumes you may have more important problems than the cost of the vodka, such as where will I find another liver?

        • Contrary to logic, spirits and champagne get more expensive per litre the bigger the bottle.

        • Well duh!, if you kill one of your livers, your body will just keep going on your other liver¡¡¡

    • Last time I checked it wasn't this cheap at Costco. I also noted that Costco didn't seem to have Grey Goose anymore, which they used to have at $60 / 1L (and is nice straight on ice).

$65 at dan murphys. Delivery only though which is kinda weird.

    https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_798463/belvedere-vo…

    • Not weird. Standard practice these days when ALDI release their 7 day specials. It's DMs way of getting around the "won't be beaten" thing. Technically they are selling it for cheaper but you need to pay for postage which means you won't actually buy it from them.
Ask DM head office why the "Delivery Special" can't be click and collected in store… it's cheaper for them to do C&C than post it, right?

      • You would think so. Hey if they wanna waste time/money on delivery!! Guess they get a lot of folks to impatient to wait for delivery and end up grabbing it normally

      • +2

You can still go in and ask them to beat the price, as Aldis offer is available in store.

  • Anyone have a free delivery code?! DM usually has one.

    • Try XMAS15

  • The Miska vodka at Dan Murphy is good for the price, that is the cheapest clean tasting vodka I have tried.

  • Thanks for the heads up, not for Aldi though as went there today and they were trying to tell me they don't stock such fancy alcohol lol. Showed them their website and that shut them up, but they're out of stock. DM with the 8% cashrewards and free delivery with XMAS15 is a much better deal. So thanks!

Wen't to Dan Murphy's today in Brisbane to try my luck. They beat it and it came to $60. Little surprised as when I looked at the terms of their price match policy after it says 'Competitors premises must be within 10km of our store. No Aldi liquor stores in QLD.

  • Got one. Delivery was $7, totally worth it.
