Probably not the cheapest deal you can find for Alkaline, but for a branded 16 pack it's reasonable.

AA or AAA 48*alkaline batteries for $20 @ officeworks through te year

Whats the diff between Eveready gold and their usual "energizer" brand?
probably not much, if any.
I save reject shop had a pack of 60 batteries for $10. They where everready as well. Not sure what is the difference with Gold or the cheaper version.
