    • It has 500W motor, so even in QLD it would be illegal.

Not quite 'illegal', just only legal for use on private property, except for NSW and QLD. So if you live in any other state, I'd probably not buy this unless you're happy running the risk of being pinged - it's not guaranteed you will, but there is the possibility.

Australian rules for riding motorised skateboards:
    New South Wales:
    — Can ride on roads but must keep left and cannot travel beside a pedestrian or car
    — Can ride on footpaths and shared paths but must give way to pedestrians and bicycles, and must not ride on the pedestrian lane of shared paths that split in two
    Queensland:
    — Riders must wear an “approved bicycle helmet”
    — Can ride on footpaths and shared paths but must keep left and give way to pedestrians and bicycles
    — Can ride on roads except those with a median strip or centre line, one-way roads with more than one lane, and roads with a speed limit over 50km/h
    — Must not ride at night, alongside a pedestrian or car, or cause a traffic hazard
    Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania:
    — Private property only
    Western Australia:
    — Private property, off-road areas, and “any local council land designated for their specific use”.

My dear ,this scooter is not only as your tool ,it also can exercise your balance ,if you are really a sports holic

      • +11

My dear, illegal means the police would stop you, give you some paper, you will have to pay big money. Too expensive, poor student.

    • +8

      It's banned in NSW:

      http://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/media-releases/hoverboards-d…

$319 fine if you use it on footpaths
$637 fine if you use it on roads

      • That's what I thought.

      • +1

Hmm, interesting… I'd trust your link more than the News.com.au page I pulled my info from. Thanks.

        • +6

sorry guys…. but my mind hurts just reading that…..

      • +1

"we can make sure our scooter is well when send to our clients after test"

        A) I find it hard to believe your staff are qualified to do any testing given it's not an item you specialise in. Your store has all manner of goods from Christmas ornaments to ladies underwear…so I suspect testing electronics is not your strong suit.

        B) If your test fails, then what? Are you going to issue a recall, send another or do something else?

        C) Why would you even stock an electric scooter that you feel needs to be tested before it gets mailed out. Why not go with one you trust from the outset?

Honestly, I can't see you testing these. Which is fine, I don't expect a retailer to test products that are new in a box, but don't claim you're testing them before they go out unless you have a capacity to do so and have some sort of qualification to make those tests worthwhile.

        • We have a professional Quality Control team. They will check carefully for each item we received from suppliers and manufacturers to avoid sending defective goods to our customers.
If a item is found defective in our QC test, it will be returned to the supplier / factory.

        • +6

@cathyclinton: where did you copy this from? we all know you didn't write that. 这段话你是从哪儿抄的?我们都看得出不是你写的。

        • +2

          @reece86: almost…

If an item is found defective in our QC test,

and that's my spelling nazi good deed done for today

    • I always said these would be a really hot item sometime soon and now they are so hot they've ignited!!

      • maybe this kind of sports is

  • +1

Come on its only one fire (so far) even Iphones have caught fire. Just make sure you charge it outside away from all flammable materials and only ride it on your own property away from flammable materials.

    • yeah ,I totally agree with you ,we cann't judge a item is not good .every product is not perfect ,what we can do is to checking it carefully and keep ourselves in a safe place as much as possible

      • +1

Is the safe place riding on it though….if it isn't does that not raise questions?

        • hello dear ,you should ask yourself

        • @cathyclinton: I think if it preforms like that one in the news. no I would not…. if you can find out the name of the battery manufacturer for us it would possibly help with selling the item here….

      • +1

        just some advice:
don't post here unless it's super cheap or famous brand…
        expectations are very high here…
u might want to post to other forums that may be more suitable….

    Hello Cathy,
how many wheels does this come with?
it says Dual Two 2 Wheels
    does this mean 2 x 2 x 2 = 8 Wheels?

    • +1

      2 ,Just emphasize , sorry

  • Does anybody seriously buy something like this to drive around on the road? Can honestly say, outside of the shopping centre or youtube I've never seen one in action, certainly not overtaking me on the road. Seriously folks get a grip, as a novelty item the kids could drive around the house/backyard this would probably be an interesting XMas present, my 14 yo would love one. I have a car battery charging out in my garage at the moment, I have to be careful with it and charge away fro other stuff. If my car battery explodes does that mean nobody should ever again buy a car? Be careful, follow instructions and use common sense, it's a miracle some of us survived the 70's and 80's before the thought police were instigated to shut everything down!

Nobody cracks it over motorised ride-on kids police cars, pretty sure they would also illegal to drive on the road but fun for kids in the backyard, how is this thing any different. If I hadn't already spent too much on other presents I would think about getting one.

    • Recently in the Brisbane CBD I saw some Korean tourists rolling back to their hostel on a similar device carrying grocery bags…

    • I wouldn't use it on a road, but I would want to be able to use it on a bike path or a park.

It's different to a kids car because the intended age bracket is drastically different. There's probably more expectation that one would take something like this for a ride in public as opposed to someone having their four or five year old driving down the street in a motorized car. I'd say very few parents have any desire for their four year olds to share a road with cars, so there's no push for there to be rules to allow it.

  • +6

i came here for the comments

    • +1

      It's just a train wreck of a thread… Haha

  • +4

Great listing Cathy! I love both SPORTS and OUTSPORTS!

Can't wait to use this in a narrow space. Do you have any recommended narrow spaces?

    • -1

Hilarious Chicken, making fun of people that dont speak fluent english and are trying to use their 2nd language to make a living from people of a different culture is such a witty thing to do. How do you reckon you would go trying to sell stuff on a Chinese internet site?

      • +8

        Well that escalated quickly.

I'd probably get the Chinese side family to do it. Given half of them live in Beijing. One of whom saw this listing and found it hilarious. Why so serious?

And when I've had to translate sales material into Chinese I've paid to have it done properly. And then checked by trusted people I know.

      • +2

To be fair, I think he's making fun of the sales script rather than the OP's Engrish.

      • +1

mmm, just as hilarious as selling a item in which ozbargainers are trying politely at first to inform the seller item is illegal to use other than private property and also gauging if this has a battery which may be susceptible to dangerous fire hazards….

In turn the seller has hardly 'addressed' these concerns …. so would you like to translate our qualms?

        • +1

I dont have any answers I just dont think it is right to publicly make fun of people because they dont speak or write english well. If you have concerns about their product dont buy it but making fun of the language they use just seems a bit 'lord of the flies' to me!

        • @2ndeffort: That's fair, however it's not just for us who know to 'question' quality issues but anyone who guest's this site aswell….

By using the comment system, not only have I surmised a potential hazard or legal issue, I may infer a inability for a adequate customer response by the vendors replies….

        • +5

          @2ndeffort:

Just stop with the PC horsesh!t already, it's patently obvious that those responding to the OP are doing so in a tongue-in-cheek manner, and not deliberately denigrating or insulting them. The fact that the OP's english skills are insufficient enough they appear to be relying on Google translate to in order to communicate with potential customers is not anyone's problem but their own.

      • +1

What would I do if I want to sell to the Chinese? I'll just use my Chinese skill. 你好。我有澳洲出产的奶粉。有兴趣的请联系我。谢谢。

What if I want to sell to Thailand? I can't speak Thai. Would I use Google Translate. Nope, I'd just get someone who can (if I'm serious about the business' reputation), or choose not to sell in Thailand.

  • +1

Hello dear, I hope your company puts more investment into its product safety than it does for its customer service communication skills.

    God bless,

    JohnHowardsEyebrows.
