IWantThatFlight.com.au: You Can Now Highlight Jetstar PriceBeat Flights

After asking about this a few weeks ago, we have finally implemented ability to highlight Jetstar PriceBeat flights for domestic searches. Just in time to take advantage of the latest TigerAir Sale

To use it, do a domestic search as normal from your desktop. When the list of flights has appeared, click the 'Show Jetstar PriceBeat' option in the filter box at the left of the page, and then click 'Filter'. The list of flights will then change to show Jetstar flights that are eligible for PriceBeat and the competitor flights.

There are also instructions provided online which walk you through the process.

If you have any suggestions or spot a bug, please let me know.

Hope that helps you find some cheap(er) flights :)

  • Hey IWTF
Any chance you can update the Qantas and Jetstar logos to the latest QF & JQ logos?
    I know, I know, a non issue but it's annoying :s

    • might as well do tigerair as well, since it changed from Tiger Airways.

On the homepage? It is all being redone, actually. Hopefully the new look will be up before the end of the year.

      • Nah I meant when you search for flights and it lists the flights :)

  • @iwantthatflight - "There are also instructions provided online which walk you through the process."

Is this on your iwantthatflight site or on the jetstar sight - this walk through.

And with your sites' price beat info. Where it says eg 'price beat don't pay 103' how do you know which flight has been used to price beat?

    Its fantastic btw :)

    :)

    • Oh - is it the fare thats bean beaten appearing below the jetstar line item?

On mine it has the Jetstar price beat, then below a tiger airways flight - I suspect this is the case?

I may have partly answered my own question! haha

      Hi LifeThroughTheLens,

The instructions are on iwantthatflight.com.au - underneath the filter "Show Jetstar Pricebeat" is a link for instructions.

The fare thats being beaten may be above or below the Jetstar flight, depending if the flight is earlier or later than the Jetstar flight. I wasn't really sure how to indicate which flights go together - arrows? colour coding? Each method has its drawbacks. In the end we decided not to make it any more visually crowded than it already is.

We also thought it probably isn't that much of an issue. Once you see the Jetstar flight and contact the Jetstar Call centre, they will walk through it with you.

If you can think of a good way to indicate which flights go together, I'd be very interested to hear it.

Glad you like it & hope it helps save some $$.

  • Thanks for the reply.

Ah I found the info (in the left side area - like you mentioned).

I understand now. I guess its important for the traveler to read that price beat info, to understand how to read / interpret the price beat info which comes up.

For me, now I dont see any drawback after reading it.

I think this is really amazing to have this functionality available, as it saves going through less 'hoops' to get cheaper fares. It really is a differentiation in online booking!

Its amazing and we must thank you for all your efforts! your site always is a great source of flight booking info.

    • You're welcome & thanks for the compliments :)
