$200 off Haiku Fans by Big Ass Fans

30
QAU1215

$200 discount on Haiku fans this holiday season. Call Big Ass Fans directly on 1300 244 277, or visit www.bigassfans.com.au/offer and use code QAU1215. Offer expires 31st December 2015 and cannot be combined with any other offer. Applies to Haiku fan products only.

Haiku fans are an energy efficient ceiling fan made of sustainable harvested Moso bamboo, durable matrix composite or aircraft-grade polished aluminum. More info on these fans is located here: http://www.bigassfans.com.au/products/haiku/

This deal was taken from the Qantas In Flight Mag for December.

The company that makes these fans is based in the US, and I can't find the Australian prices listed on their Aussie site, and I believe that's because it's quote only. But follow through with this link - https://store.bigasssolutions.com/fans.html - and you can see the prices on the US store (not sure if that's much help, but could provide an estimate on how much they cost here and what sort of saving you would expect).

    Where is ass picture?

    • My understanding is that an image is meant to be automatically generated from the link. Is this usually meant to be instant when the deal is posted, or delayed?

No idea what this deal is about
    More description please

    • Have updated.

      Fasten seatbelts tight
      Your seat cushions float gently
      Headsets five dollars.

  • link points to error page - but the fans do look awesome, but i've no idea whether $200 is a deal - no prices on site…

    • Prices start from about $900

    • The link originally pointed to the american site, as per the description…. But a minute or two ago, it changed to the au site.

I've reported this (maybe incorrectly) because the US website indicates that the offer is not available here in Aus.

Also - if the OP is associated with this company, they should probably say so.

Hi, definitely not associated with the company. Just saw this offer in the Dec edition of the Qantas Mag. I updated the link to the Australian site, because I'd accidentally put in the incorrect one previously. Offer should definitely be available because the link in the magazine was to a .au domain - and there is an Australian toll free number on there.

        • cheers, sorry I can't seem to delete my report. have a good one.

    • I've fixed the link, sorry about that.

  • Seems interesting but could be expensive "Big Arse Solutions’ Haiku residential ceiling fan starts at $US895, and the SenseME technology costs an additional $US150, bringing your total costs to $US1,045."

  • This is the best fan on the market and was rated #1 by Choice last month.

See Choice comparison table. Best performing as well as energy efficient however very expensive.

    • Did choice report on noise generated at the different speeds?

      • No, they didn't measure noise. Probably not significant. The bedroom performance is based on moving the most amount of air on the lowest setting.

Apparently, fans that are DC (as opposed to AC) power tend to be quieter. The top fans recommended by Choice are unfortunately not at Bunnings/Masters so a bit tricky finding a good deal.

  • Pretty sure l have seen these at the last Brisbane Home Show. Impressive looking fans that definitley have the "wow" factor. $1.000+ for a fan? Bit pricey for my budget.

I had a call back from a Big Ass sales guy (sounds so normal …)

He quoted $795 incl delivery (after $200 discount) for the white or black 1.5m models and $200 extra for the timber models. Same price for the 'thick' mounting stem (which had a 411m total depth) or the thin mounting stem which includes 2 lengths (381mm and 711mm depth)

Also $195 to get wall mounted RF remote (standard unit is infrared)
No idea about the senseme or led lighting options but I'm sure they are big $$ upgrades.

Thought this info might be useful for those thinking about them.

    • This is great, thanks for doing that!

Thanks, I'll let the Kardashians know.

    • I thought this deal was for a membership in the Kim Kardashian fan club.

  • So what is an ass/arse-fan, and do I need a big one?
