I stand by my comments in this large thread, regarding shoes and COTD, specifically New Balance.

There's simply something 'not right' and cheap about em.
You'll note from my other posts in the thread, I was totally surprised to find the super cheap DC's I got seemed legit, half well built - the NB's tho just… they just felt off.

Not gonna neg down, since great price, but heed warning.

Thanks for the heads up, picked up both pairs for $15 delivered (had $45 in store credit) not complaining for $7.50 a pair.

    • Nothing wrong with Wiggle and Eastbay shoes for example

These New Balance are a fashion shoe than a sports shoes, they are retro shoes. And as you say, probably junk.

      • The thing is, the photos show, what looks like a snug, well made shoe with some heft and quality too it, but the final product, while not … bad - there's jsut something off. They nearly weigh less than my thongs for example.

        • Sounds like they may be fake.

I commented in another thread re: RayBans from CoTD, got flamed for it. They sell legit gear, but not for this market. Some of it comes from cheap Asian markets. People seem to think anything that is genuine from OS, is as good as the stuff sold here and we just get ripped off. But its not always true. OK maybe we get shafted a bit, but we often get a better product being a first world country.

The RBs I got were legit RBs. But the lens was not as good as the same model from Sunglass Hut in Myer. I compared them side by side, with a Myer staff member, they were clearly not the same. Frames were perfectly fine though. Had nothing to do with polarised or not.

        • @Tuba:

I've seen NB shoes overseas where products are usually legit. They looked fake. Maybe NB make low quality shoes, but it's a bit of a gamble IMO.

  • Doesn't need to be the first time use for Visa Checkout, right? I am asking since I have already used it once before.

    • You can use visa checkout three times.

    Hideous looking

I have a shockingly low success rate buying shoes online. Even if you have the same brand and model at home does not mean that the next one you buy, ordered in the same size, will be the same size. I've even had 2 pairs of the identical model, identical size shoe, ordered and delivered at the same time, turn out to be different sizes.

  • Thanks, Used 10% off, plus free shipping and visa checkout for two pairs $52 all together A+!

Yeah bought two pairs for $52 too. But I'm not so excited anymore after reading the comments about their quality. :(

    • Wait and see, might be fine.
