Want to colour calibrate your monitor? We're doing the Pantone Huey for $99 - well under RRP. Ideal for design students, hobby and amateur photographers, web designers, gamers and anyone that wants to get the best results out of their computer monitor.

Pantone Huey Colour Calibrator

Do your colours look slightly out, or just plain wrong? Do your prints not match what you see on screen?

There’s a reason your blues aren’t always true. Same goes for your reds, greens and every colour in-between. What you’re seeing onscreen isn’t necessarily accurate – it all depends on your monitor.

Overview
Huey will correct the colour on virtually any monitor for brilliant life-like colours in digital photos, computer gaming graphics, digital movies and Web-browsing.

Huey offers:
- Accurate colour correction for LCD, CRT and laptops.
- High quality results – based on professional level GretagMacbeth technology.
- Cutting-edge ambient light technology - ensures your monitor remains consistent as room lighting changes.
- Revolutionary ease-of-use – wizard software guides you through every step for accurate on-screen colour in minutes.

We also stock the higher-end Spyder3 and Colormunki colour calibrators to ensure accurate, reliable colour accuracy across output mediums and platforms.

  • would love to borrow one of these or the high end ones to set the screen up, does it change your windows/driver settings or does it connect straight to the port and look at the screen providing a hardware solution?

According to the guys here, the huey doesn't alter your hardware or operating system in any way – it creates a colour profile through its own software. This profile can be switched on and off, and once the huey is uninstalled your monitor profile will revert back to its original settings. I think the idea is to keep the huey plugged in, which allows for the Room Light Monitoring function to stay active. That way the huey will perform light checks every 10 seconds to 4 hours (user definable within the control panel) and adjust the monitor profile settings, automatically. This really is a base model unit, if you're after a higher end unit you'd want to look at the Spyder 3 Pro, Spyder 3 Elite or other high end units.

  • looks kinky… does it need batteries?

    • Does a bit :)

I have seen a few bad comments about this device, the software is a bit s**t. I use a Colorspyder 2 and the difference before and after is huge, you can get the colorspyder 2 Express for around $65US

the 2 express is discontinued but the color spyder 3 express is $85US (amazon) or around $150AU locally

  • The Spyder 3 Pro by Datacolor is a really great monitor calibrator for serious and professional photographers. I have used the Pantone Huey Pro - this is also a decent monitor calibrator, and really portable, but I think I would use the Spyder 3 everytime.
