Given the cheapest you can usually find the Wired G633 for is about $199, this is a pretty decent price for the wireless connectivity.

These are also $299+ in stores in AU. way cheaper here.

These have great sound a joy to game with.

  • Not all places selling for 299 is this good for xbox one or are there ones costing a lot less but just as good.seems high for gaming headphones which i not used in past but may want to try.

  • Stupid question - anyone know if the g933 is wireless 7.1 with the x1? read a reddit AMA which seems to suggest it still needs to be connected via the x1 controller and wireless 7.1 only with PC.

If this is the case then why dont normal headphones output 7.1 sound if its merely simulated?

I'm keen to pull the trigger so long as def does 7.1 and can't use a standard stereo/non-gaming headset to get the same immersion.

Even better if someone who has the g933 can let me know that would be great!

Right, firstly, these are awesome. All I wanted was wireless headphones that I could use with my PC, PS3 and PS4, and easily interchange across all three. Took me ages to find the specific info that indicated that I could do this. The 7.1 was just a bonus - I was happy with sound in my ears honestly, given the early-morning alternative was low volume speakers.

So they come with a USB dongle. Plug this into any USB power source, and then plug the audio out from your PC/PS/Xbox/TV headphone jack INTO THE DONGLE. The dongle talks to the headphones, and thus you now have wireless sound - this will only be stereo. For example, I have my PC, PS3 and (eventually) a PS4 all plugged into one TV via HDMI, and the headphone out of the TV connects to the USB dongle, which can just be plugged into any USB power source. Voila, wireless in stereo, no need to change any plugs when going from one gaming source to another as long as it's plugged into the TV.

To get 7.1, the dongle plugs into a PC, you install the software, and that's it. 7.1 will only work with the PC. I haven't actually gotten around to doing this yet. If you want the surround via your console, this is perhaps not the headset for you. If you are happy with good-quality stereo for your console and 7.1 from the PC, these are awesome. There are buttons for different EQ presets plus I'm sure you can customise these if you bother with the software - I'll have a look over the Christmas break.

I got these for $217 from Mighty Ape as a pre-order at the start of November, and they fit the bill perfectly for me.

      • I should add that the 7.1 would be compatible with console but this is dependent on Logitech releasing the relevant software for each platform - not sure if this is on the cards but that's the only way it would happen. I've found the stereo to be immersive enough, but that's me.
