  • I've been looking to learn how to use GIT properly and implement it in some of the little projects I work on while learning other stuff. Would $10 be worth it for this course? Anyone know if it is easy to get used to?

  • I have seen many similar posts, and have rarely been impressed with the quality of stuff available.

First, some of the best resources are free. Especially, look at material from companies with an ulterior motive in helping you learn. The Git tutorials above for example, both Atlassian and GitHub sell Git hosting solutions.

Then, saving a few dollars on something you would spend many many hours on doesn't really feel like a saving. You can get good learning books from public libraries, and otherwise, believe me they are worth paying for.

If anyone's looking for the best way to learn any of the listed skills, give me a shout I can point you the right way.

Some of the best Python books in the world are free for example:

    • I just finished a Diploma at TAFE and let's just say they… neglected to inform us about a lot of stuff we might need if we land a job. So thanks for the resources, have to teach myself!

  • There are some free sites for learning to code.

    http://www.freecodecamp.com/
    https://www.codecademy.com/

At a glance, between the both of them, they seem to cover most of what is mentioned above. HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL, Ruby, Java, Javascript, Git, Python etc.
