I wonder how long it'll be until they realise that CeX sell second hand goods? That might limit their desire to price match.

    • Forgot that they sold second hand goods lol. Best to get in quick at office works if interested.

      • Yeah that doesn't qualify for a price match.

  • How many second hand Fitbit Charge HR's would there be?

    • On the cex website it says 4+ at the Belconnen and Tuggeranong store and 1 at Wollongong.

Got charged $6 for delivery charge at office work in QLD. Sales person wouldn't give it away without adding the delivery charge. $116 for one.
    Thanks OP

    • Still a good deal :)

      • But I should have argued. Don't know why I didn't. I guess I was more concerned about him saying it can be used item and therefore we can't price match.

pre owned? so it's been on somebody else's sweaty disgusting wrist? gross!

    • That's if you buy at cex.. Price match at office works for cheaper and brand new.

    • It doesn't say its preowened at cex site, am I missing something here?

    Stupidest deal ever.

Next we will have people posting Cash Converter and Gumtree prices.

  • Love to make a copy of this post and send it to OW head office to highlight how stupid some of their staff are.

This doesn't qualify as a price match for Officeworks. You're just going to get some poor officeworks employee in trouble.

    • I didnt mean to abuse the system or anything. I legit thought that this could be price matched. To clarify I even called
their customer service where you call for pricematch stuff and she went through it with me for about 5-10mins and said it
was ok and then confirmed it too. Afterwards I went straight to the shop she said it was available at.

      • Not your fault OP. You didn't force OW to price match. If staff can't or don't follow their own store policies they should not be working there.

I don't blame OP but you shouldn't have an attitude of 'it's up to the salesperson to stop me'. We're trying to live in a society here, don't take advantage of people if you don't want to be taken advantage of yourself.

@gonesellin: It's not something I would try but this is a common scenario on Ozbargain, with people trying to price match grey stock, items out of stock, etc, etc.

At the end of the day a customer has a right to make an offer, and the business has the right to either accept or decline that offer.

@unity1: Yeah I realise that. I just don't like people knowingly try to rort the system. Price matching is great when it's done properly.

  • It's basically fraud to pricematch a second hand item.

    • Nup. Caveat venditor.

  • No thanks! For $20 more I could get a new one at Bing Lee with the Click and Collect coupon!
