What sale? 25 buck HDMI cables?

  • Loads of exclusions :S Whats the bargain ?

  • +17

No bargains listed, a million lines of exclusions.

    Sorry.

Excludes Apple, Beats By Dre, and Seagate branded products

    and yet; http://www.dicksmith.com.au/hot-deals/seagate-3tb-expansion-…

    The stock won't get delivered

    • +3

I agree. Never had any luck with DSE deliveries or click and collect.

For example from my orders list today
      100476439 01.10.2014 XXX $34.93 Awaiting Fulfillment

They just lose packages and then you have to spend months trying to get them to fix it.

If you click and collect they don't have it physically in stock and you wait days then the shop cancels the order (after accepting it)

(oh and no "bargains" fictional or otherwise listed)

      • If you click and collect they don't have it physically in stock and you wait days then the shop cancels the order (after accepting it)

Yep, still waiting for this deal to be fulfilled.. going on 13 days now.

        • Mine is 13 months

        • @drunifex: Haha damn, so totally missed the '2014'.. was more just agreeing with you that DSE suck the fat one when it comes to C&C!

  • +12

I just set an alarm for key word XBOX. Exciting to recieve the first alert only to find XBOX in the exclusion list.

    • I think I'm going to get more alerts for Dick's exclusions than for 'Fitbit Charge HR'.

  • Cant seem to see too much of a good deal, thinking about upgrading my speakers, anyone know if the link below is a good price?

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/home-theatre-systems/philips-blu…

Philips home theatre system for $340. Just seems like the RRP is $500 but noone on here seems to be talking about it.

Cheap HTIB sounds like cheap HTIB. For that amount of money get a good quality sound bar. If you're after decent speakers and have about 600 for a pair of fronts, start with the hifi stores.

    • +1

Yeah I agree with D3m3ntia. I've got some Q acoustic bookshelf speakers and they sound amazing. Couple some decent hifi speakers like those with an AV receiver and add the rest (satellite speakers, sub woofer) down the line. That kind of setup will last a lot longer than that Philips HT, and sound much, much better (even without the surround kit or woofer). If you don't want a bulky setup then go with a decent soundbar.

    Typical Dick Smith "Sales"

  • +3

Every time I see an item worth buying in one of those random scan down at counter sales, I pop into a dick and get dicked. I wonder if the Xs stands for exclusions

  • +4

Seems like OzBargain is becoming a daily advertising spot for Dick Smith.
    XXXL SALE!

    • Wrong. Every day.

  • +10

I've been disappointed with DSE's "sale" in the last few weeks. I might "pass" and wait until the DSE liquidation sale.

Great sale! They've actually INCREASED the price of the Pebble Time from $199 (yesterday) to $299 today!

  • the proper title should be:
DS says: try to find a real sales on our website!

  • DSE have lost the plot.

Eneloop Batteries from 4th? Not fulfilled.

Stupid selfied stick that said it was ready to be collect, not fulfilled.

I've cancelled all the orders. Just in case they suddenly turn around saying they're going under administration immediately.

If anyone who's been waiting for more than 2 weeks for their item, should just give up.

  • Thats one impressive list of items!

Why don't they just say what is on special instead of providing a massive paragraph of what isnt.

  • i think with dicksmith you need to be lucky to find good bargain. to dicks credit they had extremely good bargains in DSLR section as people bought canon 70D kit for 599. i bought canon eos m3 for $350.

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/babies-kids/tx-juice-stunt-buggy…
this was $19.98 just the other day, now it's $42.36…

"Dick does deals". Every. Single. Day. Sometimes twice a day. The emails and ozbargain posts just keep on coming. I feel like I'm exposed to far too much Dick these days.

  • Dick's sales model is "courageous". Overprice stuff, fail to sell, have panic sale every 2 years to dump old unsold stuff.

  • +1

this DS will not survive another year….
people lets support DS for their last xmas in australia!

  • +2

How did that thread on the forums go with the voting?
"Ban all dick smith deals" should have gone ahead with it.

  • Fuji AA 4 pack batteries 50c
    Gps/compact camera case $2
    4 pack windows alarms $5
If your going to a store anyway

  • Same so called 'Bargains' for last 3 weeks. I've been checking the prices each day on Dick Smith website on all notebooks & laptops & cannot see any price changes in any of the items to what they were 3 weeks ago!!
    …..another re-DICK-ulous sale!!!

  • All I want for Xmas is envelops!
