    I got this on the previous deal. I can't recall from which store. This sharpener make the horrible nail on blackboard sound which I can not tolerate. I found the Global ceramic sharpener much easier to use. Doesn't sharpen as well as Global sharpener. But it could be my technique.

    The one I bought seems fake but with genuine branding. Anyone know how to tell the differences?

    I bought a few of the original version from amazon years ago for about $10 each during a sale as stocking stuffers and they were very average . Certainly not worth much more than the $10 I paid for them . They made horrible scratching sounds as well . They sharpened your knife but no where near as well as a proper sharpening wand .

    To be contrary, I also have had one of these for several years, and I quite like it! It is easy to use and makes my knife noticeably sharper. Noisy? I guess so, but so is my coffee grinder :)

    I got one of these on the previous deal which was $50 shipped, I've had the smaller version for years. This is definitely better than any steel I've used (yes, I know how to use them) if your knife is in poor shape, you only seem to get the best result using all 3 no matter the knife condition. I use it quite aggressively and more strokes than the instructions say but that probably depends on your knife hardness too.

      I got one from that deal to and it has made all my kitchen knives incredibly sharp. Far sharper than I could get with a steel. Never had any issue with the noise it makes either.
