  • bought an artiglio and a radius.

wanted the grey radius, which looks the best in my opinion, but it sold out in large by the time i went back to select it! :( oh well.

  • Thanks, that is my biggest saving of the year.

  • +2
  • Got the Gravity and C-storm helmet for mountain biking.

  • Bit of help here please. New to bike helmets so S/M for kids and L/XL for adults? Thanks in advance.

    • Measure the circumference of your head

      Guide

The cm measurements are listed for each helmet.

  • Thanks OP! Missus and I are very happy now! Just bought a few items and the best of all, free shipping over $100:
    Carrera C-Storm 2 x $19.99
Louis Garneau 12c Air Gel Womens Gloves $9.99
Louis Garneau Gel EX Womens Gloves $9.99
Louis Garneau Biogel RX Short Finger Gloves $7.99
Louis Garneau Gel EX Gloves Black 2015 $8.99
JetBlack JetRace MTB Bag Blue Large 2 x $4.99
    OnGuard Pitbull Medium U-Lock $19.99
    Subtotal $106.91

    • I also bought some things I … need.

      God damn it.

    • Well I can say that I am thoroughly disappointed with one pair of my Louis Garneau gloves that I bought.

I have probably worn them a grand total of 5 times of around 30-60 minutes, so barely 3-5 hours, and the stitching on the left hand thumb and pointer finger is already undone. They are a perfect fit too.

I see now why they were discounted, pretty PO'd.

  • any good bike deals? I'm looking to do a triathlon in the next year and i don't own a bike. and buying a helmet by itself seems silly no matter the savings

    • is this a good bike? around half price http://www.pushys.com.au/xds-700c-cs-lite-bike-black.html

      • +1

No, it is a very basic and low end bike with rather poor components (similar to Kmart / BigW bike level). Not exceptionally good value for money imho.

        • yeah i thought so. thanks for that. is there a particular bike that you would recommend thats on sale?

        • @rockman117:

The Eddy Merckx EMX-3 frames are awesome for the price. Would have gotten one for myself if I am not moving interstate soon.

      • is this a good bike? around half price

Stop reading fake overstrike prices. It is a $200 bike.
Note the limited gear range with a 14-28T freewheel (not cassette/freehub) and no front shifter.

  • All the cheap ones are gone. was gonna get that last brown one for 9.99 but someone nicked it from me whilst I was checking out. Bugger.

Nice deal though. Perhaps next time.

    • The $20 ones are worth getting too, good quality. By the time I chucked in some gloves, a few tubes & 2 Maxxis Refuse tyres ( bargain at $21 each) just cracked the free shipping barrier. Good nights' OzBargaining:)

      • Just curious what the free shipping amount is?

        • +1

          $100

  • Pity they don't sell more Endura stuff, but for $10 I'll give those LG gloves a go.

  • +1

ahh you've gotta be kidding me, when i bought two last night they were sold out of the $9.99 ones so had to get the $19.99 ones, checked again this morning and they had some more of the $9.99 ones back in stock. Whats the difference between the two anyway? I wonder if they would change the order?

    • Aren't the $19 ones better built than the $9? Unless you just want a helmet shape looking object on your head to comply with the laws otherwise you get what you paid for.

      • They are all basically the same. Business school tells them to create a range with different price-points to maximise revenue.
Do you think Shimano really needs 27 different levels of groupset? :-)

Real el-cheapo helmets lack a proper adjustable harness, and have shells that melt in the sun or come unstuck. Maybe poor ventilation.

The Pushys helmets are all good, and you might pay a bit extra if you think one looks better.

  • ordered two one for my lil sis, came the next day DHL delivery. was surprised. look aite also. Now need to get a bike for 10 dollars…

    • +1

      whoah that's fast!

    • +1

Yep mine was delivered the next day, very impressed!

I got an out of stock email and asked me to choose another model and colour. Not bad at least allows me to choose an alternative instead of outright cancelling my order.

  • BUMP! $20 and $30 helmets still available in S/M sizes. But beware.

I had a problem though: the large Gravity is just big enough for my 59cm head, but the large C-Storm is too tight for comfort. I'll have to give it to one of my kids.

Any other big-heads had trouble? Reminds me of bike shoes, where people tell you to always buy one size up from what you normally wear.

    • yeah, i think i measure my head at 57-58cm (which should be at the lower end of the L range)…but both my artiglio and radius in L are a tight fit (about right). maybe i just measured my head wrong! :)

on another note, the visor on the Artiglio is fully removable (and come shipped unattached). the only difference between the two helmets is that the Artiglio has the holes for the visor. had i known this, i would have grabbed two Artiglios for the bonus flexibility.

so yeah, unless you are certain you'd never use a visor (eg. road bike only), then i recommend grabbing the visor version since they're the same price!

edit: looks like only visor helmets (Artiglio and C-Storm) left anyway!

      • FYI the visor is removable.

        • um yeah, that is pretty much precisely exactly what i said…(i take it you only read the last line of my comment!) ;)

the visor on the Artiglio is fully removable (and come shipped unattached).

        • @caprimulgus: No I meant for the C-Storm

    • Large for me is also a tight fit (around the side of the head mainly). If it was an XL instead of a Large, might have been perfect. Oh well. Decent quality helmet for $32 delivered I guess, though the padding seems a little thin, and there is a shitload of excess strapping hanging down, with nothing to tie it back.
