COTD Daijitsu (Sansui) 42" Full HD 1080P 100Hz LCD TV $648 + >$79 Shipping

230

Model LCD42HWA. Cheapest price point for a 42" (106cm) Full HD 100HZ LCD TV!

This beats the Aldi offer from last month as the panel is 1920x1080. LG panels aren't the best. I am considering upgrading by AIKO 32" 1366x768 panel that I bought 3 years ago for $999 as it's remote control receiver has been playing up (known fault).

Has HD Tuner, quite a few inputs,

Warranty is 12 Months with AWA. Might be a good stop-gap for those wanting a 42" LCD for a year if you are waiting out for the LED ones to drop in price.

I heard about this happening yesterday - it was announced as a "well know brand" at never seen before price. Limited stock for 24 hours so I set the expiry date for tomorrow.

There is further info on the same model at http://www.topbuy.com.au/tbcart/pc/42in-106-cm-1080P-High-De… . Topbuy have this model rebranded "Englaon, it comes from same factory that make Sansui for the Australian market available at Retravision stores. ..shares all the features and service and quality as Sansui"

When you add the $100+ shipping it doesn't seem worth it.

      Done

  • umm saw this earlier in teh day never thought about posting it up….
never really saw a no name tv for 750 that much of a bargain

    • Even for a no name brand, 42" full 1080p HD LCDs are rarely this cheap, or am I missing something?

      • Yep, agreed, especially 100hz units! ;)

  • fantastic Deal, I want to commit one today. hope warranty is guaranteed.

  • just be aware that its dynamic contrast ratio on the topbuy site….(which means they cheat and make the colours deeper to give the picture more depth, meaning you get fake colour) still looks pretty good though.

there is no contrast ratio in COTD…

received the following email from my mate…
might be a good idea to head down to retra vision and check it out before buying one…

"good thing is that retravision on bridge road has the same brand – noticed it at lunchtime today, then came back and received the email from cotd and realized it was the same one. So could go check it out working first to see what it looks like. If I were buying one".

    • So has anyone seen one in action?

Ah yes, the well known brand Daijitsu. At last an electronics brand that I can watch and have a black belt in.

DaiJitsu stands for Daikin Fujitsu. They made Air Con ;)

  • yeah right

    DAIJITSU ELECTRIC CO., LTD.

39-39/1 MOO 1, BANGBUATHONG-SAINOI RD., KLONGKWANG, SAI NOI, NONTHABURI, 11150

    Thailand

    • Thailand makes a lot of quality goods and has been doing it for some time so it wouldn't be an issue for me (some Samsung panels sold in Australia were also made in Thailand as well).

In regards to the bargain at hand. I'm staying neutral as although on performance it's great, I still feel the cost should be cheaper when factoring delivery.

  • daijitsu? that sounds shifty. i thought it was fijitsu only .

    • fijitsu sound shifty too, if you mean fujitsu, thats different :) lol

  • Sounds yum-cha, but it's cheap. Someone buying this wouldn't give a crap.

  • pretty good, i catch 2 yesterday :)
