    Nice find.
Mature schooler, here. More earnings, but more debts.

Can never hurt to have a stack of these. Kids & myself.

  • Just bought 100 of these. Thanks OP!

Thought I was greedy getting 10!

      • +3

We use them at work so worthwhile stocking up at 5 cents a pop

  • Thanks, ordered 50 via click and collect. Office works is just down the road so hope they got them.
As a uni student doing a degree in digital media i don't (and haven't in 2 years so far) really need to carry books or even a pen most times to class, but i do have younger siblings still in school that could use the books.

  • Thanks picked up 10!

  • Have they doubled in price compared to last year. I was sure they were 2 cents.

    • +3

I hope you bought them one at a time then! :)

        Ah yes, rounding down.

    • +3

Well they were 0.5 cents in 2009. A 1000% price increase, crazy! We should boycott OW for this.

      • +4

yep, and back in 2009 it only got 26 upvotes. Tells you something about the growth of the user base since then

        • -1

Not really, just found a 2009 post with >130 upvotes. Although the userbase was certainly smaller, I think lack of upvotes was more to do with the fact that the '10 for 5c' deal appeared 3 times that year.

          @lyl:

lol, you do realise that, that 130 upvote post would probably get multiple times that nowadays. 130 upvotes is hardly ground breaking nowadays. Also, the frequency of deals and upvotes have no correlation. Just have a look at the SD card deals.

  • It would be $0.10 next year. I am going to stock for this year and next. :-)

Just bought 200. Should keep my 3 kids away from my printing paper for a while.

  • Word of warning to anyone reading the item description on the A4 128 Page books … description states pages have a red ruled margin … no they don't :(
Was going to buy a few hundred for my school (my teachers want red ruled margin 8mm books), as this is well below what we can get them for through our suppliers - glad I decided to go instore and check before buying!

    • Buy a few hundred, a cheap ruler, and a red pen. Get the teachers to rule the margin. "Sorry the red ruled ones cost a fortune"

Addendum: for the A4 size, don't forget there are binder books for the same price if you prefer the hole-punched type.

  • My son will be attending kindergarten next year, just wondering if he need this kind of exercise book?

I'm currently in high school, and I've switched around 3 primary schools, so for me:

It really depends on the primary school teachers if they want exercise books or not. Most primary schools will provide exercise books for free, some teachers may prefer handing out worksheets, but generally you needn't worry exercise books.

BUT you should always have a surplus of them, as although you never know when you need them in primary school, your child should be doing lots of writing at home, and it is guaranteed that you'll need them eventually in high school.

I required about 10 exercise books throughout my primary school (for school projects, homework books, etc), but in high school (right now), where they don't provide it, I'm chewing through around 10-15 A4 books a year. (which is why I need to get them when they're on sale - discounts matter)

So yeah, if I were you I would get at least 20 9x7 evercise books and 10 A4 exercise books for now - you'll need them eventually, and it would be much better getting 20 books for $1 than 5 books for $2.5

      • Thanks for the information, it helps me a lot.

  • The 9x7 48 page is pretty poor in quality. Super thin paper
If you use a mechanical pencil you'll get a rip in the page every now and then from writing

  • Does anyone have the A4 128-page exercise book (either normal or binded): any comments on the paper quality/thickness?
