I am surprised you havent got more negs

Firstly they are roughly $600 AUD ea
      No Aus warranty
Shipping not accounted for from America (roughly $700)

      What a ridiculous comparison

      • -5

the link provided i said, i feel and other thing is under $600 for both not for a single one.

          Speaker - Singular
          Speakers - Plural

I guess by your standards speakers mean 3 speakers Left, right and centre

  • Can you do a "better" pricing with a velodyne sub?

  • Nice looking speaker, I was looking to pick up some good used B&W's on ebay for a while but then no more job :{

    • +3

At least you got to grow a moustache :{)

Thats an awesome deal. I have a mixture of reference and non reference and love these speakers.

The same here, I'd love to replace my L/R RF35's with these but can't justify the $$ at the moment. The great thing is that I could swap them in and out and the MOWAF would not even know :)

      • MOWAF? I'm guessing its either a component of the stereo or a derogatory acronym for the wife? Googling gives me no other information.

        • The Minister of War and Finance mate, so yes the wife but it's far from derogatory, at least in my household (she even call's herself that!) Similar to Rumpole of the Baily calling his wife She Who Must Be Obeyed… Am I showing my age yet? :)

        • +1

@bassmaniac69: Yeah you are - it's called the Minister for Defence now.

        • +1

@AlanHB: Minister for Attack Everything in my household!

        • @AlanHB:

The funny thing is that I never really watched the show, I just know the saying! But I'll make sure I remove it from my library of references!!!

    8 PAIRS AVAILABLE ONLY!

Sorry, minimum of 10 required for a deal post.

Given these are a high end item and a significant discount, do you feel that rule is really warranted in this situation?

Deal post has been corrected as a result (after my comment), but nice way to re-word the mod edit.

  • How is KLIPSCH compare with KEF over all?

  • $1399 ($2599 RRP, 46% off) and they still will have a nice profit margin, just not as huge as if they actually got $2599 for them

So a new revised model must be on the way

    Dam I love Klipch speakers

used to have Heresy's would love a pair of Klipschorn but my Synergy F3 will have to do

you cannot compare Klipch to Kef totally different sound

its like in your face grab you by the testicles to smooth mellow laid back American to English sound totally different

    • American to English sound totally different

I understand is quite personal I am thinking which is better for jazz or blue music?

      • quite personal

Actually, the job of high fidelity equipment is to reproduce the input (in this case, the data in the recorded media) as precisely as possible.

        A loudspeaker isn't a musical instrument of a musician.

      • go to a decent hifi dealer take your favorite albums/cd of the music type you like to listen too and audition some. then take them home and listen do they sound just as good, no take them back and start again till you find the sound that you like in the store and at home.

    • "and they still will have a nice profit margin" what a silly comment.
Unless you know what the dealer bought it for that is really a fatuous comment.
Business sometimes have to sell things @ cost or even under to get cashflow back into the business to buy new stock.
      Please do not assume

      • Yes I will stand buy what i said it is not a silly comment it is the truth,
I have had the fortune or miss fortune to purchase in for a store hifi equipment including speakers and i know what we bought them in for and what we sold them for.

there is a VERY VERY LARGE mark up profit margin on loudspeakers

    • speakers isn't something we change every year like an iphone. they're crafted to blend in or stand out with the décor of a room. it's not uncommon to replace lounge suites when moving while keeping the speakers. many users keep a pair for years if not a decade or two.

      a rough estimate could be 1/3 fob/duty/gst/transport + 1/3 rent/wages/insurance/etc + 1/3 profit.

      $1399 ($2599 RRP, 46% off)

we all know that rrp is bs.

I have the bookshelf version of these, love em. Make sure you're giving them a decent amp to run off. A $299 kenwood harvey norman special will not make these sound as good as they can.

  • mmm grab these and move my RF62ii's to the rear. Not today but when the RF7ii's go for a decent price Ill be there….. Just Klipsch have not got a replacement yet so I may be waiting a while.

  • Bought the second last pair they have.

    Awsum deal!.

    Mixo

    • mmmm. Funny that!
I just put in for 2 pairs, and has allowed me to go to checkout, yours could not have been the second last pair.

      • Two different setups, or you running them in the front and rear?

      • well he had to ring to find out if he could sell them to me.

        I hope you get them.'

        mixo

  • are this better then the Soniq 999$ ones :)

  • Just bought one too. Anyone has any suggestions on what receiver to buy? Would need USB to stream music from. Thanks!

    • USB to stream music

I reckon better use a good CD player and receiver for it.

    • Not just because it is my post!
Check this deal, hard to beat, for a set of fronts at this level, I… I repeat 'I' wouldn't run anything else/lesser than this.
This is assuming you do not have a good receiver/amp already.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/228990.
BTW, I just bought a TV off them (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/227821).

    • Depending what your going to use these for in a surround sound setup or pure stereo, there are many choices
you say usb to stream, are you referring to just plugging in a usb stick or portable hard drive usb type a or connecting a computer via usb type b. that's where is gets a little more difficult. Many surround sound receivers have a usb input on the front ie plug in memory stick, these also have the codecs for playing mp3 wma flac files and the ability to network from nas units. the usb socket is type a. Brands like Onkyo produce stereo and surround sound receivers that have the necessary socket and codecs for this.
If you looking at just a stereo amplifier then it is usually going to be either an amplifier with built in dac and you feed the digital signal in from a computer generally using the usb type b plug. They do not have codecs its just the dac hardware. Or a stereo amplifier and then need to add a network music streamer, which would have the necessary codecs and hardware to output the stereo signal into your amplifier, then the amplifier choice is vast, network streamers not as much. There is always the combined units network streamer/amplifier, and usually from the more upmarket brands like Cambridge audio, Cyrus, Sony and others have recently dipped there feet into these as well pushing the hi res audio, these tend to be a lower wattage output might not drive the speakers properly, you could end up cooking the unit, you can find combined cd tuner amplifiers, generally they are the more compact style of units.
Basically is it stereo or multi channel and go from there.

      • Thanks for feedback. What I really meant was play my flac music off a USB stick, or computer, or phone.
I had a look at the Denon AVR-X3100W, but it is a little more expensive that what I want to pay. Does anyone have experience with the Yamaha RX-V479? I do not ever see myself getting 7.1 channel, just 5.1 channel.

        • Do i take it you will be using this Yamaha receiver in stereo mode only.
You should be able to plug a usb memory stick or portable hard drive and play your flac's even connect to your pc via wifi router lan using dlna.
Multichannel receivers are more designed to be used with a external powered subwoofer, my fear would be that if no subwoofer is used that the power supply in the receiver has enough reserve power to produce good and sustained bass. I had a low to mid range Yamaha 5.1 a few years ago that when bass heavy music video was playing you would see the display physically dim to it. the power supply circuit was just not up to it, adding a powered subwoofer cured that issue. But i like it loud!!!
These Klipch are efficient so you may find it might drive them to a suitable level and the Yamaha will not strain itself too much.

        • @drwau:
Well, actually I do intend to get a powered sub, which is the next question, anyone has any suggestions? Maybe around the $500-$600 mark.

        • OK this is my last post on this topic try looking at selby.com.au for the Yamaha think its $649 there then go look at there subwoofer section maybe the q acoustics 2070i $498 its in walnut only like your Klipsch its a run out model, or look at the Onkyo $499 its in black vinyl like your Klipsch speakers. From Rio they have the q acoustics for $449, but i would keep the looks the same and go for the matching reference subwoofer $895 the cheapest

          THE END

        • I ended up going to eastwoodhifi, and got myself the Yamaha RX-V479 AV Receiver for $599 and Yamaha YST-RSW300 Subwoofer for $449.

  • Thanks everyone for the overwhelming response!

Only 3 pairs remaining! Hurry or you will miss out!
