  • cool never knew they did this

New service/route about to commence, was only announced 2 days ago.

      • pretty good, just 181 return like u say..i live near airport do suits me

  • That's very long flight times (next day arrival) for a normally short flight.

What do you mean? If you're referencing the +1, i think thats a key for when there is a +1 in the flight time, but not in this example?

      • +2

Each sector in the example I tested has "+1 Flight arrives next day" under it. But now I realise that this is not part of the details for the sector, just a standard footnote in case a "+1" is seen.

        Sorry, my bad.

Edit : I think it was also the OPs reference to flying "extra long" and via Kuala Lumpur" that probably threw me.

        • Ah I just put the slogan there for fun actually XD
And there is actually deal to fly from KUL—AKL but I guess it's probably not suitable in Ozbargain hence I only put OOL-AKL

dude, where did you see this? the screenshot he put makes perfect sense for flight duration between australia and new zealand

    • +1

      The flight time is normal.
The flight time doesn't show +1 from OOL to AKL, that only applies if you fly from Kuala Lumpur

    • -3

so i fly at 11:30 and land at 12:30 am +1 that means a long flight

the pilot must be a bogan doing donuts for 7 hours

  • Perhaps something to be mindful of: In the past airlines have on occasion had delays starting new routes, so perhaps look for Jetstar to price beat, particularly in the first few weeks. I Imagine they will definitely want it running by the end of march though, to take advantage of easter school holidays.

    • Also AirAsia have been known to 'pull' unprofitable routes…………..so anyone booking this should make sure that they have 'flexible' arrangements!

EDIT: Looks like they flights back aren't the same time of day. Flights over are 1h15m apart on some days so no obligation to price beat L(

Jetstar match international flights anytime on the same day (the 1 hour restriction is only for domestic flights).

        • There is an exception for trans-Tasman flights. See my comment below.

    Jetstar price match time :)

    • Hmm but the Jetstar flight needs to be within 1 hour of the AirAsia flight. Are they?

      • International flights it's same day I believe (domestic is 1 hr)

        • +1

Yes. But the rules are different for trans-Tasman flights…

          • Within one hour of each other if they’re domestic or trans-Tasman flights
          • Within the same calendar day if they’re international flights (excluding intra-Asia and trans-Tasman)
