Reviews:

  • Detailed Critic Review
    "This is, effectively, an independent game from a small, creative team. And it’s a massive success at being that. It’s a deep JRPG mixed with both satire and humour, it’s something you haven’t seen before, and most importantly: it’s fun. Real, genuine fun."

    Good Deal OP, Been watching this one locally and haven't seen it drop this low yet.

    • +2

      Have you checked the Playstation Store? its part of the January sale.

      • Can't seem to find it on the AU store. Have a link by any chance?

        :EDIT: Nevermind, found it!

        A cheaper alternative to the ones who don't mind digital.

        Ah sorry I meant Physically. I prefer physical for a variety of reasons such as maintaining ownership over the ability to play the game/resale value/having a collection ect. Digitals cool too if you just want to play the game. Thanks though!

        • +1

          Totally agree with you opinions. Never understood having the digital just to save a few dollars. Buying the physical saves in the long run with the ability to resell or Trade with fellow collectors later on. I think on every occassion I have always made a profit when selling on (if I can part with it :). Especially strange Japanese themed games which always have a market and longevity. Also love having it on the shelf :). Couldn't resist this buy.

          @paulransom81: I agree with you by having physical can be used to either resell or as a collection.. But it also takes up space.. I prefer physical too if i could but sometimes some games takes forever to go on special to drop down for a reasonable price like this game for example.. I bought it on the PSN because it was only $25 compared to JB/EB which are $70+ and because i love JRPG xD
          Guess every people has different ways of viewing it.. I have no issues with digital or physical so it just comes down to which can save me some money.. Also i believe we all know that we can actually share the digital games too if we wanted ;)

          @piggiepanda:

          I've done physical for many years. Always preferred it. I have maybe a thousand games.

          I've changed my mind though. I would rather have digital. I dont want to move house (or just move them to paint, or do the floors) ever again.

          Other than a couple dozen titles, I would convert 90% of them to digital if I could do it for free. Onselling be damned.

          One big sticking point though, is I always buy when price is rock bottom. Digital is often far too expensive, for far too long. Whereas you can trust that a physical store will clear stock at some point, and that's the best time to buy.

          @justtoreply:

          Totally agree… Im renting now and i've got piles and piles of games for the xb360, xb1, ps4, psvita, wiiU, 3ds.. I actually had to buy a container to put the games in them yesterday xD…

          I wouldnt go all in digital though, just in case they would have to remove them from the website/online store.. Cant remember specifically what titles but there was certain games where if you had downloaded it you could still play it but if you deleted it you cant redownload it again because it was removed… THats my only concern of digital…

          Again you're right, physical tends to drop down in price due to competition.. but certain titles like JRPG or Japanese games most of the time retain there value for a quite a long time…

        • @justtoreply: Congrats on the 1000 plus collection. I love having a few book-cases piled with games. I'm currently not moving but can understand your predicament with such a large collection. I also think the majority of my games were bought at Rock bottom prices. I buy as I like to collect but most of the time buy an item knowing that it's an investment piece in which I could get some return or at least break even (if I can emotionally part with it lol). Even some of the harder to find titles I've been able to get at ripper bargains off ebay, amazon and from SOS. It's unfortunate Australia doesn't utilize Craigslist and actual game trading websites that are very popular in the US. Being a collector in the US would be too easy, they are spoilt for choice :)

    Surprised you're still in business with prices this cheap!

    • Haha, yes, it's not easy to sustainably do this…but we do :) and you're right: as you know a few others are sinking right now in this fast-changing industry. As my boss used to say: "Easy way to a million dollars in the videogame business…start with two million!"

      Any chance you could do the same price for onechanbara?

      • Great game! We thought about Onechanbara but unfortunately, it's the Australian version, and there likely aren't enough left to do a deal. Why not just use the 10% off from the bottom of the voucher that came with your last order? If you lost lost it, pm me and I'll give it to you :)

    Thanks guys. Been waiting for a classic bargain. Missed you guys from here for a while (apart from the vita games). Keep it up. Good to see those particular individuals that were negative on every deal you posted have faded back into the abyss (hopefully this doesn't bring them back lol). Always had a positive experience with selling out soon.

    • Awesome, thanks! Nice to hear good experiences from people who actually buy things :)

  • Why do you have "D1 edition" and "Ltd edition" on your deal/website when this is just the ordinary edition?

    • Not a bad question. There is more, but I'll leave it at this: Because the re-release will not be Day One, if we decide to build one. We haven't decided if we will, yet. In addition, the Australian homologation is extremely limited, in terms of Manufacturing Quantity. But with more emphasis on extremely :) which is why it's far more likely to be a rare title in the future, in addition to the genre itself, which is very niche to begin with. These are the things people will be looking for. Ask anyone who just saved the $50 :)

      • +1

        You could also say rather than it being a day one edition, its more of a first print run. Day one editions which market themselves as "day one editions" (disgaea 5, Tales of Xillia, Zestria, ect.) generally include additional items such as mini artbooks and ost's. First print runs are generally just games that got released on release day but aren't platinum hits/essentials/best of/Cheapest Price or such.

        By the way say a producer wanted to make more copies of a game to sell. Like every copy of Omega Quintet sold out and IFFY decided to print more and not change the case art how would one determine whats a second print? Do they change id numbers somewhere or something? On books it seems pretty straight forward they say when they've been printed and all.

        • Exactly my point. Day one or limited edition in video games implies that there is additional content.

          I don't see any other game on their website like Star Ocean or Dragon Quest have "d1/limited edition" in the title despite them being even rarer.

        • @Gehirn: Yes, you both bring up valid points. There are a lot of things I can say here, but it's been a long day (!) and the main thing we want to focus on is this very cool game, and to give people an opportunity to save $50 on it by getting it now :) cheers guys.
