    just a tip that i have used in the past; should jetstar change the schedule on you, no matter how insignificant; refer to section 9.1c :-

    http://www.jetstar.com/au/en/travel-info/at-the-airport/cond…

    (c) If, after you pay for your Booking, we make a significant change to the scheduled departure time of your flight or the flight is cancelled (except where this is due to circumstances beyond our control) and:

    • this change means you are unable to use your Booking for its intended purpose; and
    • we or our Authorised Agents cannot book you on another flight which you are prepared to accept;

    we will give you a fare refund. Unless otherwise required by law, we will not be responsible for paying any costs or expenses you may incur as a result of the changed time or cancellation.

    The key term here is significant; what does significant mean:
    Ask Jetstar what happens if you are 1 minute late once checkin has closed; is 1 minute significant to them.

    You can use the above, to try and get a refund, but normally the best approach is to get them to waive fees to change flight dates etc.

    This works on all forms of the air-fare .. e.g. jetsaver light;

    I've used this in the past after a 5 minute schedule change.

    • Thanks for the tip.

  • Great deal, good to see the domestic airfare market heating up.

  • ideal for me as im going on a dental holiday. got bangkok for $587.00 return from sydney

    • Good luck with that mate. Haha

    • What happens if things go wrong? How much do you save?

  • I went to war with their POLi payment system. It wanted me to pay with a credit card even though I clicked on POLi. It pretended to be nice and POLi finally took my $1500+ but it was a trap. Jetstar gave me a page full of exception errors and then their evil phone system took over and punished me with 30 minutes of awful Jetstar theme music.

    • Just booking a flight I had 3 seperate pages of esception errors. Luckily each time I could hit 'back' and resubmit. I did call up the call centre and they confirmed my booking number, so hopefully all goes well. Shonky booking system IMHO. Hopefully they maintain their planes better than their booking system!

    Hey all - wow, this is a pretty good one.

    As per usual, we've cranked up Adioso and you should be able to easily find out which days have the cheap flights just doing our super simple search, ie:
    - http://adioso.com/au/cairns-to-osaka.html ($179)
    - http://adioso.com/au/melbourne-to-bangkok.html ($249)
    - http://adioso.com/au/sydney-to-saigon.html ($249)

    Or, if you want to just take advantage of the sale to get a cheap weekend away somewhere you can also do:
    - http://adioso.com/au/melbourne-to-anywhere-next-month-weeken…

    Obviously, replace with your own home city :)

    Happy hunting!
