Since the ABR was registered 8 months ago and the website a little after that, I assume by "Sammywin is leading online electronics retailers in Australia" you mean "Sammywin is a one man operation, has recently started up, the sole proprietor also started up a few related businesses at the same time, and is looking for customers".

The first random thing on your site I clicked was the Asus PW201 for $455. MSY has it for $228.

    Not a bargain.

    • Agreed. My first random item was Samsung monitor selling for over $200. Lowest price on Staticice is $125.

  • Hi tantryl and ohsnap,
Thank you for your response. I guess not all our products are the cheapest on the market. But some bargain will save you more than $200 if you shop with us.

    Consider this:
    Samsung 2494HS SAMSUNG, 23.6"WIDE, BLACK, SIMPLE STD, 1920X1080, 5MS, VGA/DVI+HDMI, SPK, 50000:1
Original Price $599.00 ; Selling price $391.00 ;You Save: $208.00
And if you use the 10% discount you will save around $238 at least.

We might not be the cheapest, but we try our best to give our best service.

    • ozbargain is all about the best price.

Service can factor in, but with an unknown store, newly launched with no store front I wouldn't be jumping to the conclusion the service is great.

I'd jump to the conclusion it's a drop ship operation that has no stock and picks up from suppliers when the orders come in and is, relative to say Officeworks, very unreliable.

  • Hi tantryl,

I am not trying to be nice, but I think your ideas could be valuable input for us. You have been member of OzBargain for more than a year, spent hours on the website daily, and commented on more than 200 bargains. Out of thousands of bargain that you have seen, probably most of it are online starters who want to look for customers through this website.

I believe there are other factors that made people like certain online retailers other than price and store front. So, if you have constructive comment about us, please do comment or write to us. We will value it.

Let me ask this question, what do you want or expect from online retailer like us?

    Thank you.

    • Honesty is a great start.

Don't gild the lilly. For example the Geronimo Jerky guy - doesn't try and make it sound like it's run out of a mass production facility servicing the entire Australian population. Makes it clear it's a home run operation that focuses on the quality and diversity of their product.

But it's still OzBargain and unfortunately you've chosen a line of retail that's incredibly competitive, with some reliable retailers like MSY and Umart frequently having retail prices below that of wholesalers like Synnex and Altech, and even some of the big boys like Officeworks having better prices on printers/multifunctions that MSY/Umart/Synnex/Altech.

Margins are razor thin in the bargain-tech category, so good luck competing successfully, but remember this is still OzBargain and people are here mostly for the best price and service is hard to demonstrate online.

      Cheers
