But we buy the gear if its cheap enough

    • +7

why not? it's bargain compared to diving ;)

      • but no where near as enjoyable!

        • +3

Perfectly enjoyable when you feel like a quick splash around in the shallows as a nice alternative to pissing about organizing gear and air and getting all kitted up.

Snorkelling is an entirely different activity to diving, but equally enjoyable in its own way.

Dick Smith could use this. Their shares did some diving recently…

      • +2

It's funny because their share was FLOATED just 2 years ago

Picture is of Imprex 3D instead of Tri-Ex, might be worth verifying which one you'd get.

Slightly different.. the Imprex 3D mask has a hard plastic shell around the nose so its more difficult to equalize ears, especially for diving.

    • Has anyone been in store to confirm this please?

    • Is definitely the Imprex 3D, in store has the same BCF product code 214765. They don't stock the Visio Tri-ex.

      • +1

Yeah, I discovered that as well when I went to pickup. Ended up getting the Tusa Capri $30 mask.

The Imprex snorkel kit also contains the Imprex-3D mask as well. Impressive bargain for $40.

Recommend a snorkel to go with the mask?

    • +2

I would go for this bundle instead of just the mask (http://m.bcf.com.au/Product/TUSA-Imprex-Mask-Snorkel/283481). Only $5 more for a snorkel both of the same great brand. Also seems that this other mask has less volume to be equalised during snorkelling over 10 meters deep.

Want to get this but the link doesn't work :(

        • It was a good deal hence BCF took it off the website apparently

I have had a tri-ex for about 30 dives. Bloody love the thing, great suction to the face. I paid a lot more than $35 a couple of years ago, seriously thinking of getting one of these for a spare

  • I just collected mine, it is the Imprex 3D mask. Does not look like they have the Viso in stock

  • They have Visio at my local store, Belconen ACT. Just order one.

  • Can prescription lenses be fitted to these anyone know?

  • If it is the Tusa Imprex 3D it can be had here for $39, making BCF $13 cheaper if near a store.

  • Never been diving before but serious question, this is acceptable for scuba diving, yes? There are groupons for scuba diving that I want to try but require I supply own 'dive quality' mask and snorkel. And yes I can see it says 'diving' in the post title but I don't see the words 'scuba diving' written outright in the amazon description.

Since it turns out its the Imprex 3D model, its probably not that ideal for scuba since equalizing with it is difficult.

Another thing to keep in mind with buying masks is the fit is critical..

      • Thank you. Looks like deal expired so your reply is good comfort. I'll head down to a shop one day and get fitted (have a petite head).

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed 2.
