A 120GB PS3 would cost you $420 on a decent-sale price. Not great, but decent.
A 250GB hard disk should cost you around around $60.
A PlayTV on a good day should cost $129.

Overall: $609 if you find decent deals.

All things considered, this is actually not too bad a deal. But it really depends on whether you want to bundle and buy the 250GB PS3 with the PlayTV and pay $579 or wait for really good separate bargains on a 120GB PS3, PlayTV and upgrade the hard disk yourself.

I'm expecting negative votes on this comment but as a package, this is a good price I reckon.

you'll know neither 120GB nor 250GB is enough (i filled up my 500G in less than a month), hence waste of money, so why not waste less on a 120GB model and replace with 1TB

  • well considering it's myer, i voted +ve.

+ve for myer points as well, provided you actually need a ps3

-10% for staff, makes it $512.10, but I'd guess they would know that…
And no use to ppl who aren't staffer's :p

    • or people who know staff ;)

These are $559 with play TV and HDMI cable at game.com.au

    • I agree it's hardly a great deal. If you shop around a bit you will find it cheaper.

    • And you get a HDMI cable as well!!
So $10 cheaper from GAME and a bonus cable makes it a better deal.

      • Yep a better deal, BUT before some doofus says their local Game store didn't have the deal, it does say it's an online only deal. And Game has free delivery so just have to wait the few days for it to arrive.

It is possible they may honour it instore, but at this stage they don't.

  • I'm thinking about getting this tomorrow. Do you reckon Myer will price match Game's Deal?

    • I think you will have little chance of price match.. But can always try. I guess the point of this deal is MyerOne point and Myer Voucher usage.

    • It would help if (a) there's a GAME store in the same complex, and (b) they have stock. Otherwise Myer tend to be rather reluctant to price match.

  • Consider this: you get 1138 Myer One points. 2000 points is a $20 voucher, so assuming that you spend another $862 in Myer later, that would equal $11.40 back eventually.

Pay by credit card, and it's more points. It's all about deal stacking :-)

  • The game deal is only on the webstore.

Also if you purchase more than $750 in 2 or more recipts with you Myer1 card, you'll get a $50 myers voucher for this month.

    • Haven't heard of this one… got more info?

      • Noticed it in-store yesterday when buying the system, was at Myers in Carousel, WA. Pretty sure the deal expires end of month and has to be purchases made with MyerOne.

        • Ah, hang on so this is the MyerOne credit card, not just the MyerOne membership card, right? That'd probably be why. I don't have the CC…

          • @zzyss: Probably although not sure. Was focussed on getting the PS3 home =)

  • I might buy it since I have $300 Myer Voucher.errk so it's for MyerOne credit Card. I don't have CC, got only membership card. :(

  • I've still got myer gift vouchers from the +10% bonus deal pre-xmas. Would that mean that if I could find a myer staff member, that the cost then becomes 569*0.9(staff discount)/1.1(+10% discount voucher) = $465.50

tempting - just need to find a 'friend' who works at myer :)

  • If you can get that price, you should consider buying 100 and sell them on ebay, you may well make around $80 per console :P
