Be aware if you are purchasing it under a business name that you are not eligible. I made a purchase for my home but only have my business name as an account with good guys. Panasonic denied my claim. Good guys browns plains refused to do anything.

If you read the T&C point 7, it says "Promotion only open to Australian permanent residents aged 18 years or over who make a purchase for personal use only". You can only blame yourself for not reading

When I made the purchase the store salesman said I would get a $300 cashback if I made the claim. Asked for my phone number and up came my account and processed the payment. Salesman always insisted that I would eligible for the cashback at no point did he tell me because my accounts a Business account that my claim would be denied. I even offered to send Panasonic photos of the Aircon installed for personal use only with no luck. Totally agree, I blame myself for trusting Good Guys sales person. For any claims made sure you read the terms and conditions!

        • I learnt that the hard way too. Never ever trust anyone except in writing.

      Thanks for the warning

  • great price for the panasonic http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/panasonic-c70kw-h80kw-reverse-…
    $1789 and $250 cashback.

    • We just bought two of these two weeks ago from TGG… - Sigh -

      • Ouch!

      • How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking.
I've been looking at this unit for a while and the cheapest has been from Masters using the 10% off they regularly have. which made it around $1600

  • Would installation cost as much as the air conditioner itself? If yes, then I will go with a portable unit.

around $500-$600 but they are a million times better than prtable - really you cant compare.

      • +2

Yep, I have a fairly expensive portable unit as well as a small air con in similar sized rooms. The portable unit is completely useless at cooling the room - it is just like a cold fan.

      Good luck with that.

  • Install an outlet near the window for the hot air to go out and it works a charm, agree cannot compare to the Split aircon but does the job of keeping the room cooler like I got one from Kogan and am happy with it with 4.1KW its great…

I got the same one and it is useless at cooling the room in comparison to the split system. Also ridiculously noisy :(

      • I would say the room its fine, sometimes I need blanket I'd say for the money its doing well noisy I agree with you on that

but mate for that much money and in rental is more than good

        • Fair enough it is a rental :)

    Hi guys,

I am in the market looking for a couple of air conditioners for 3 bedrooms. 2 rooms are adjacent to each other, the other being on the other side. The rooms are all fairly small (9-11 sqm).

Based on your experience, does multi-head air conditioners work well for the room furthest away from the external unit? In terms of costs, does it make sense to go with multi-head or I am better off buying 3 separate air-conditioner? (Honestly I don't want 3 bulky external units installed)

Is there any good deals you spot on this or should I wait for another Ebay 15%-20% off deal?

    Thanks!

When I was considering multi heads a few years ago pretty much everyone I spoke to said don't bother unless you've really got no room for the additional compressors, and cost wise a 2 head would cost just as much, if not more, than two separate splits. 3 heads may work out ok.

  • The Good Guys in Melton gave me a good deal for the Mitubishi Heavy Industries 3.5kw and 9.2kw ($3000)
Would've been good to have got this promo too though

  • Does anyone know if their price beat guarantee is with or without this "cashback"? EG- will they match the price of another retailer AND THEN give you the cashback or would we be told to get stuffed? The LG 7kw is currently $1480 at Appliance Central and $1599 at Bing Lee but $1648 at The Good Guys.

  • Fujitzu…purchases expired on 18th Jan. So if you have not bought by now, you miss out.

  • Sorry, I was wrong, the fujitzu promotion has in fact been been extended for another few days.

    • What is the Fujitsu promotion? Do you have a link?
