I think the sale ends around the 26th of this month.

Huge amount of positive feedback on Amazon UK - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-GC4522-00-Performer-Steam/dp…

Also well rated on UK Steam Irons Review Site - http://www.uksteamirons.co.uk/products/philips-azur-performe…

Some might say it's a lot for an iron, but it has quality reviews and is cheaper than anything I can find on StaticICE. With the $30 cash back and already reduced price, I think it is a decent offer.

If you are a Myer member you can user your Myer One card to get rewards, otherwise ask Appliances Online to match the price (they will give you a coupon code) and get a small cashback from CashRewards.

My first time posting a deal so please be nice :)

The cashback process with Philips is annoying to the extreme. They must receive the completed form with the barcode cut out of the packaging (!) by post (!!) within 14 days of purchase (!!!). It's worth it for the money, but they make you earn it.

  • cheaper than anything I can find on StaticICE

I'm not really sure that's a good place to be searching for an iron …

We bought a different model Azur quite a few years ago from Myers, after seeing it on a previous Ozbargain deal.

The iron is pretty good, works well. There is a long manufacturers warranty too (2 years on irons).

However, we have had 2 failures that have required it to be returned to Myer. First time it just stopped dead, the second time it would go into standby mode and then refuse to wake up again.

In each case they swapped it on the spot. However Myer's system cannot cope with a "exchange"… they credit you in full, then you repurchase a replacement product on a fresh transaction. So, we have already had about 5 years so far, and still more than a year of warranty remaining.

Anyway, keep your docket safe… if there is a problem, it works out great via Myers :-)
