ZenMarket ¥500 Credit (New Referred Customers Only)

60

Zen market are a Japanese buyer and shipping service that will buy an item on your behalf from a Japanese seller and mail it out. They currently have a referral program going that on registration you will immediately receive 500 yen credit for your first order. I've used them to buy a yanagiba from the tokyo fish markets in the past and they have been great.

As they only charge 300 yen buyer fee at the moment per item it essentially makes their buying service free, which is awesome! Be sure to post all your quirky purchases below!

Please note a referral code is necessary to get the 500 yen credit. Obtain one through the Zenmarket Referral Wiki link below.

Kinda spammy when you're the only referral on that page…

        • @altomic:

When I went to Japan they had a 220v section which included toilet seats for Chinese tourists.

seems great to buy one of them used undies from cute chicks

  • I've bought Roland electric drum stuff from Japan because it's substantially cheaper. Not sure why you wouldn't just buy direct though. Google translate is pretty good.

    • Well for me there was two reasons, I approached the store directly in japan and didn't have an issue buying from them there but when I tried buying a second from Australia VIA email I didn't even get a reply and by phone no english speakers. If you can speak Japanese you can probably get around this quite easy. The second issue is payment, Japan is very cash heavy and not all online places take credit card - bank transfers and cash on delivery seem pretty common and both are a pain.

That being said there are several that will sell to you directly which is the better option if available, saves you domestic delivery at the very least.

  • A few things i have found cheaper on my trips ~ Bulk blank blurays i bought a 50 spindle for about$50, reconditioned technics turntables, retro console gear and games, c of fd mount lens, projectors, pioneer headphones, lo-fi cameras, japanese made esp or fender guitars, japanese lego sets, buffalo brand networking gear, vintage hifi gear especially valve amps, eneloop battery packs and banks, Alcohol,100 Yen ($1.20) cotton white tshirts from Lawsons 100 stores, Colectables. Most things are cheaper online or available here.

    • Have you had any luck importing alcohol? I'm a big fan of Hibiki but it's easily twice the price here…

Bought back a few bottles of plum wine. The bottles are small and easy to pack.

  • I have been looking for a service like this. The Japanese Star Wars Model Kits are way higher quality than the Revell stuff who apparently have the "Rest of the World" license

    • I was in Japan in December and the Bandai Star Wars stuff are so much better, but also expensive.

I'll bookmark zenmarket. Not to get cheap(er) stuff, but to get stuff you can't easily get here.
