  • That's quite expensive if you don't want to subscribe to the Australian newspaper. Good deal if you were going to subscribe anyway.

People still pay money for news these days? Why? Information is free on the internet.

newspapers like the Australia should be free or tax deductable…..

$349 for all of this and it says save up to $667 that's got to be a huge lie?. That total save up to $667 is a huge lie that would make it a $368 difference over the $299 RRP of the device itself. No way a 13 month digital subscription is worth $368. It says the RRP of the Samsung Tab A is $299. So you're basically paying $50 for this 13 months digital subscription to the newspaper.

      Newspapers don't lie

      • +1

Newspapers are full of opinions not facts.

        • Such as the RRP in their opinion

        • "Newspapers are full of opinions……"

Newspapers are full of opinions and sometimes facts, except where those opinions of facts may offend the owner, an ally, or a valued advertiser.

Certainly the Murdoch stable can't be relied upon as your major news source.

  • I'd go with the other 3 listed papers in OPs post - $50 cheaper ($299 for digital) and still get the tablet

  • Clicked the subscribe button for Herald Sun but comes up as "Not a valid (or expired) Campaign".

    • Adelaide Advertiser's deal is $239 for 13 months, Tab A, a presumably magazine 12 Month Digital Subscription and free e books… Presumably Herald Sun has something similar.

  • Have done this before, good deal.

  • Is the tablet worth it

    • ironically, the screen on this tab would not be very good for reading…

    • If you go by financially. The tablet is currently $248 at HN or Officeworks.

Between that and what The Herald Sun wants for this 12 months subscription + so called free bonus Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8" 16GB for $349 is a $101 gap. So it turns out in reality for the price that you can currently get the tablet itself fron HN or Officeworks the digital newspaper subscription itself is really setting you back a whopping $101.

Why would you pay $101 just for a yearly digital subscription to a newspaper is it worth it?.
