Join Chatime Membership for 50c & Get Free Drink on Your Birthday + Earn 10c Per $ Spend

110

This may not be new as I've seen many people using it. Finally asked the staff when it wasn't too busy and found out it costs 50cents but you get a free drink on your birthday. So that's worth more than $4 for the most basic regular drink with no topping. If you get a large with multiple toppings, it's worth more than $6… you also get 10c for every dollar spend to redeem drink. So I think it's a good deal for 50c only.

Why not free ??? How stingy are they….

  • The Chatime outlets at Darling Harbour and Westfield Eastgardens closed recently. Still in Chatswood Chase and presumably Westfield Sydney (CentrePoint Tower). Anyone noticed if more are closing?

Spoke to one of the franchisee previously, between paying the royalty to the parent company, paying rent to Westfield and deduct expenses, you are better off voluntaring at Salvos.

      • Cant imagine what other expenses there may be apart from rent. There is usually only one 1 staff member serving customers. How much would tea leaves and bubbles costs? The stores i have seen are just poorly managed. Boost juice/ top juice have 3-4 staff and are much more successful.

Can you please check the birthday freebies before posting? It's listed, even mentioning the card cost.

Where is the 10c listed ?

It's been like this for a few years. Nothing new

    I think it's 10% not 10c

    • Technically it is 10c per dollar spent which is 10%

    • The website said 10c per $ spend so i didn't want to interpret it differently just in case you spend $5.80 and you only get 50c. That's not 10%.

  • I stopped buying milk teas from ChaTime and Easy Way and now make my own milk teas at home. The ones at the shops just taste like water.

    • Sugar water…delicious delicious sugar water! :)

Do you have a recipe you follow? And where can you get pearls? I've never looked into making them at home.

My drink: Earl grey milk tea, double pearl, half ice, 60-80% sugar. What does everyone else get?

      • Roasted milk tea with herbal jelly or pearl, half ice half sugar. Well, they are the least sugar-watery bubble tea out there so I stick with them.

        • ah nice, yeah roasted milk tea is my secondary choice, when i want to switch it up (very slightly, aha)!

i've done herbal jelly AND pearl before, which i didn't think worked very well together, so i might give herbal jelly a go by itself! i think those are the only add-ins that i've tried.

@MadMaxBargainRoad: Fair enough but was referring to 60 -80% sugar in earlier post.

        • @Kevan2:

you do realise that "60% sugar" or "80% sugar" means 60% or 80% of the standard sugar amount, NOT that the drink consists of 60% or 80% sugar…?

Max said half sugar (50%), and that's "fair enough", but that extra 10% means "diabetes" for me?

          ok…

@caprimulgus: I wouldn't take someone who threw out one-word smack reply seriously. He probably thinks that all those juice and smoothies that he's been drinking are sugar free lol.

Twinings Assam Bold tea, cane sugar, coffee-mate creamer, ice, and of course pearls. Pearls can be bought from Asian groceries. I get the instant ones where you just boil it for a few mins before serving.

  • I bought two drinks and asked for a membership card; had the reward points added to the card and the staff member didn't charge me 50c for it (perhaps she forgot).

  • Im pretty sure the card itself normally didnt Cost that much anyway. 1 dollar? Or i always thought it was a nominal 0.50 when i got mine??

  • It's always been available.

    • I did say it's not new and i cant find any post here so i thought some people may not be aware.
