    'VDAY'
its the code Canadians use when asking about venereal diseases

and if this is the 'coolest' Valentines gift then the bar has definitely lowered :)

    • I will ask them to change it just for you! ;)

where are your shipping prices on your website ???

Titles should state:- 3. Shipping cost. Exact cost if known or approximate range.

Is it $5.99 for the major cities (NSW/QLD/VIC), we would definitely be making a lost if we had the supply to NT and WA at that price. That is why we couldn't list the exact shipping cost.

  • To be honest, it's pretty neat looking. Not going to buy, but I do like neat things.

I will note that the company looks very new - facebook page is brand new, twitter, etc. So I'd proceed with a little caution (at least until they are a slightly more established entity). Either way, I wish them best of luck. Good timing definitely for Valentine's Day!

  • My wife loves tea and I just bought this thanks to you!!! Very unique gift! I'm just hoping it arrives by Friday :S…

Seems a bit expensive for a teapot and two cups. The tea is worth less than $5, based on pricing just about anywhere (even eBay).
Cost of shipping should be mentioned, so that people don't have to provide all their details first.

Yes Jadebutterfly is brand new establish, every company has to start somewhere, small business that just launched - we love what we do and we have been sharing it amongst friends and family, now we want to share this beautiful tea with others to enjoy :). If you are worried in any way then use paypal, no problem at all.

    • Hey Karman, just ordered as this will make a great Valentine's Day gift, thanks!

Don't be too concerned about all the negging, no disrespect to them, but these guys are hardcore bargain hunters and i'm not sure this product exactly fits that description. Anyway, some will still buy from ebay, save about $10, wait 6 weeks and not get gift wrapping. One small issue with the product and they're in all sorts of trouble. Plus it's tea, not something that i'd risk going cheap and nasty with.

Every business does have to start somewhere and i wish you all the best with yours. Good luck!

If you don't want the 6 tea bags, the same pot and cups is around $30 here…

  • Karman what are the chances of it arriving to me by Friday?

    • +1

I will get it wrap now and post it today for you via Australia post!

      • +1

Thanks so much! and I wouldn't worry about the negative guys on here! You are selling art and an experience and sometimes people just think of quantity. I will be sure to be telling my tea loving friends about this!

        • -1

          You are selling art

          They are mass produced.

        • Thank you for your support, we really appreciate it! You will get an email notification as soon as it goes to the post office with the tracking no.

        • @jv: sigh more useless misinformation from you.

        • -1

@rustafaria: sigh then why do you read them.

        • @jv: every single tea ball is made by hands, someone actually goes out collect only the top few leaves of each green tea plant - these are quality silver green tea, then collect the nice flowers, it gets sorted out, goes into the drier, when it comes back out it gets cut to length, wrapped tightly together by cotton thread, then placed into a material bag, twisted to hold it into the round shape. Then is set aside again til it is ready to be packaged.

chances of it arriving to me by Friday?

      then

      lol…

      • normally it takes around 2-3 days, during busy period we have no control over it, therefore we will do the best we can to get it out ASAP so customers can get it on time for the special occasion.

        • it takes around 2-3 days,

          not any more……

PRIORITY POST: 1 to 4 business days
REGULAR: up to 6 business days

        • I think you are looking at the time for delivering a letter as oppose to a parcel post. eg:

@jv: swing and another miss… it's just negativity from you constantly.

        • @rustafaria:

it's just negativity from you constantly.

lol… look up the definition of hypocrisy… At least I comment about the 'deal' and not criticise other people here…

        • +1

@jv: Every post seems to have some inane, pointless comment from you, usually heavily downvoted, where you just spout incorrect information. It's just getting tiresome.

        • @rustafaria:

Every post seems to have some inane, pointless comment from you

Then why do you read them ??? Why haven't you hidden them ?

          Hmmmm…… I wonder…. (not)

you've been a member here for 7 years and contributed zero posts… that says a lot…

  • The product is hand-wrapped and shipped here express from overseas, the postage is very expensive via DHL/EMS. Of course you can get it on eBay but they mix all the tea up you have no idea which one is what ingredients and it comes in a package that you cannot give as a gift, and you have to wait 4-6 weeks for China air.

We have to package everything here in Australia with the paperwrap/boxes etc. all that is costly plus cost of mailing box and the gift wrapping material, we are making around 5% profit on the item (and that is free labour from the people passionate to launch this). Overall we are making a lost (with cost for design/web-development and sunk cost with getting the product looking the way we want) just to get people to know about the product, you can do the maths of you look up all the shipping cost and how much it is to make something like this. Check Australia Post charge to post domestically, it cost around $15 and we already absorbing most of that cost by only charging $5.99 for postage.

    • Not sure whether it is reasonable to include all your overheads and startup cost in your value-comparison.
Australia post lets you send up to 3kg by express for under $15. Sounds to me like you could offer better value and make more profit by including more tea (assuming you buy it in bulk). Right now, people are effectively buying a teapot and cups for $55.50, with $5 of tea thrown in. You should make your product about the tea.

you could offer better value and make more profit by including more tea

yep… you can get the same pot and cups for around $30

so $20 extra for 6 bags of tea is not much of a bargain… a 10 pack of Twinings is $1

      • We didn't, the around 5% is purely for getting the goods here and having it packaged and shipped out.

The overall lost is due to set up cost.

We are looking at how we can minimise cost, difficult at the start up stage, however we are hopeful that our customer base will increase as the words spread and people see how beautiful our teas are and the great conversations it generates with their loved ones.

  • If you dont need it for valentines and you can wait and dont want the tea, you can get the teapot for $12 on ebay and the cups for $2.20ea on ebay.

    • just a note on caution for the ebay glass wear, we have bought some online (not this one you have mentioned here but a similar one) and the material was thinner it cracked after 2 washes. As for the tea, we have tried different places and some of them don't bloom, I cannot say what quality for the suppliers on ebay. Jade Butterfly went through a long journey to agree on the products we are currently selling, through testing out different supplier products before we are happy with what we have now.

  • I placed an order, hopefully the delivery will arrive before the weekend.

    • +1

thank you for your support :)

      • Is there a tracking for my order?

        • All orders made up to 5pm yesterday has all been posted out. The tracking no. has been sent to your email.

        • @karman: I received my order, haven't opened it yet as I plan to give it to my gf on the weekend. Is the package suppose to be really light? It feels like there's no teapot in there.

        • @kei: it is light, only about 1kg because is tea and glass which aren't heavy objects.

  • Is there no discount for the 18 Blooming Tea Gift Set?
I tried to input LOVE in the discount box but it said 'Your cart does not meet the requirements for the LOVE discount code'

    • The discount is a special offer for the Valentine's gift sets.

      • +1

Just realized I choose the normal 18 Tea Gift Set instead of the 18 Tea Valentine Gift Set.
Have ordered one, hopefully arrived soon.

  • 23 bucks shipping to WA?!

    • Australia parcel post website indicates it can be very costly depending how regional it is. What is your postcode? We could look into it for you and possibly amend the shipping fee.

  • The timelapse looks good….definitely interested. PM'd

  • Managed to pick up my order this afternoon. I'll report back on the actual product next week, but the rep is friendly and helpful.
