        eggbies.

      • Previous deal with a bit better photo of you weren't aware https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/229698

        • Yeah, I googled the bookcase.
It's more of a display case than a bookcase.
You cant fit many books in each cavity and I dont have enough trophies to fill it :(

      • I was wondering if you rotated it 90 degrees if Blurays would fit?

        • you can fit two rows of ps4 games if u lay them flat, it's the height of a 3ds game, i got one last time they were on sale.

    • They have not provided much details guys. Perhaps only checking in the store will give you more insight.

Hehe… My bad.. You dont have to..!! If you open the url I mentioned for IKEA-Richmond, they have mentioned "Sneak Peek (More offers in-store, Mon 29 Feb Only!)".

    • Would be absolute mayhem at these stores come Monday. Not sure if worth the headache.

    • +3

I've never understood the hype with IKea; their budget products are absolute junk (stuff you can get at the Reject Shop or similar), and their higher priced furniture has a lot better competition.

your fitbit is guaranteed to reach 10,000 steps every time you go to Ikea. Think of it as a free-entry maze.

        • the path from start to finish is 2km

I did that irritating walk once - mindless zombies everywhere.
Now I just go IN the exit, walk against the flow, grab what I need & run out yelling 'Start the caaar' - 500 steps & 5mins at most.

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: I do the exact same thing except for the yelling part.

I look on the IKEA website, find out where it is located on the warehouse shelf, enter though the exit, grab the item and walk out.

        • You can always take the not easy to find shortcuts …

        • @grips:
You can pick up a little map at the entrance.. and every 50m after that.

          Shortcuts are marked out.

I find that you can use Ikea to get an idea for what you might like, and then pick it up on Gumtree for free or really cheap. Then you basically have disposable furniture! Buying it new though has no appeal, good sales aside.

    • Very limited range.

Anybody see that IKEA sell furniture with inbuilt wireless charging functionality?!

  • +1

Anyone know if there is a full list published today? Are all the items on sale the same at all stores?

  • My wife went into the store to look for a deal on desks, walked out with a MALM reduced from $229 down to $99! The desk was originally $159 on special (birch with pullout version) but it was out of stock, so they let her take the display model, and gave her an extra 38% discount after being assessed by somebody from the returns(?) team downstairs.

TL;DR - Pro-tip for OzBargainers: look for out of stock stuff and ask them for the display model.

  • Out of 229 only 29 items were good. Don't know why ikea promoted the 29 Feb sale like anything.

    • You expected different? Haha… I was expecting that they'd be discounting stupid small trinkets like candles, etc. Of course none of their "main" product lines like Hemnes, Kallax, etc.
