    sounds like a good deal…… :)

    • I got one from deal in mid-2013, but didn't start using it until mid-2014. Stopped working last month. Think it might have blown the element (it tripped the house meter switch, now doesn't work. Even holding the handle down it doesn't heat up)

Bit disappointed as it wasn't used that much. Haven't looked to see if it's something that could be repaired. Shame if it can't be as outside still looks good. (but even if it could be, it would probably cost more. Anyone know??)

      • You could contact Kenwood (http://www.kenwoodworld.com/en-au/customer-support/contact-u…), but I suspect it would be well out of warranty (I think it was one year) and getting it fixed would cost more than replacing with new unless you can find one of those old guys who has a repair shop that looks like it's been stocked by someone with an obsessive–compulsive collecting disorder. I'd suggest moving on…. ;-)

        • Cheers. Yeah well out of warranty as I didn't even start using it till 1 year after buying it.

I suspect it would be (like most modern stuff) cheaper to buy new than repair. Don't think I'd bother again though.

I've got 2 (in 2 different homes) and they're excellent toasters.. if that can be used to describe a toaster.

However, I picked both up for about $20 ea after cashback - the RRP on this always amused me. If it's the best price around and you need a toaster, I do recommend it. I have the orange and black - better than the standard white/stainless varieties around.

    • me too, bought one of these couple years ago, paid $10 after cashback. Been very good much better than the Kmart $5 toaster I had before, toasts come out evenly but takes long time to cook a toast and I wouldn't pay $100 for it.

  • Saw this yesterday but was so sad that the hand mixer that I now want is no longer available.

Check if target have any in store; you might be able to get it for $5. I think they have a dedicated phone line for customers to call up to check stock levels.

  • Bought one these from harvey or Bing lee when they had the cash back deal. Piece of crap, caught on fire after 13 months with moderate use (3 times a week).

Kenwood promised to give me a new one, provided i sent it back to their factory. Sent it to the mosman warranty factory, never got a call back or follow up from Kenwood.Gave up, never buying Kenwood again.

  • Got the 4 slice version ages ago for less than this, but frankly I think it's easily worth $54. Still running strong. After a string of awful toasters that would only do one side, or toast unevenly etc - this thing actually toasts. You would hope/assume a toaster would do that, but not always it seems. Anyhow, we've been very happy with it. Only minor complaint is you can't toast long slices of bread (eg from a large loaf) but we've lived with that for a while now.

  • Got one of these……it's no different to any $30 toaster.

  • That's about how much I should / would pay for it. And totally agree with ash2000. Paint chips after a couple of month with normal use….
