    Extremely sceptical about this one..

  • So ummmmm errrr what?

I'd much prefer "invoice cost minus our rebates" +$1

it maybe OK but I have found these are usually not much better than normal catalogue prices.

    • thats because store cost hides the majority of the margin between 'actual' cost and sale price.. its generally inflated to also remove the margin sales people make (as many electrical stores pay their staff commission on a % of profit above 'store' cost)

  • I used to sell stuff below cost at dick smith because if you put it in the system as a write off it would show the actual cost price so i knew i had more to work with realistically 😁

    • even if it was above the true cost price, wouldnt they still have policy in place to ask staff not to do this?
probably would come up in reporting

btw did you sell computers? back my uni days, i found that the margins on Apple was 10% for macbooks and imacs and 12% for mbps
for pcs it was generally around 30%.

Ive always been curious to know the true cost price was beyond that 30%

    • no wonder they went bankrupt/into receivership

      • Yep I'm solely responsible.

I actually printed out a few months of my sales/warranties/addons reports and used them to jump ship to another retailer in 2011.
