Dyson Stick Vac or Similar

I am after a Dyson Stick Vac or similar, we had a DC30 which I suspect the battery was on its way out but then was left out in the rain and no longer works at all so its time for a replacement.
From a quick look it looks like these seem reasonable deals

DC35 Stick from target eBay for $375 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Dyson-Multi-Floor-Vacuum-Clea…

DC44 Animal Stick for $439 from target eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171975858649?_trksid=p2060353.m14…

V6 Animal Handstick for $485 from Masters with their extra 10% off $539 (discount doesn't apply to appliances) https://www.masters.com.au/product/101667824/dyson-vacuum-ha…

Contrary too what the posted deals might suggest I dont have pets, they are just the best deals I can see at the moment a few questions I have are,

What is the actual difference in between models i.e. 35vs44vsV6 this isn't as easy to find as it It should be.
Is there that big of a difference between the hard floor/carpet/animal etc heads in reality or is it predominately about the difference in the motor/vac.
There seems to semi regular deals for Dysons what sort of prices/discounts can they regularly be had for if your not in a hurry to purchase.
How do the above posted deals stack up are there better ones ATM that I have missed.

Also I am not wed to the idea in getting a Dyson, if there are others that offer better value I am all ears.

  • My understand is DC44 and V6 have the same power, with V6 being the later model. DC30 is less powerful.

Price wise, Target have sold DC44 for $349 before and there's been a few deals from others that sold for $399. The other 2 are ok but they have been sold for less before.

I am also on the market but will keep waiting unless someone here can convince me to go for the DC44 now.

  • so which Dyson stick has the power head on it? like the minimum one (previous and new model)

  • i have a standard V6 and it is excellent. Not as good as a barrel vac, but it does the job easily for my regular clean.

Better than my old DC35, way more power, better battery life, better suction, etc

I only paid about $360 for it through a combination of deals, so my suggestion is you wait until a good deal pops up. There must be something just around the corner. The current standard prices are all stupidly expensive!

  • Other option is to buy one on ebay/gumtree (there are HEAPS), and stick a new battery in it for $50 (also ebay)

  • Go for DC44/V6

Difference is sucking power and battery life with the latter models having a bit more battery life (+5 mins or so)

    Best deals are between $320-350

With rumour of 20% off eBay maybe you can wait until then

    • I wonder if that was referring to the current 20% off for Target.
